Picking a supportive profession

I have 3 professions and maxed out their elite specs namely Scrapper, Reaper and Druid. I like them all for different reasons. Scrapper or base engi is very fun with all the utilities and kits. Reaper is very fun in pve mowing down mobs with the greatsword and being somewhat indistructable even in berserker gear. Ranger/druid with their pets and all kinds of different weaponsets is also fun allthough I find the Ancestral Focus and Druid bar a bit clunky and it’s hard to heal people out of groups or raids. Maybe because I haven’t played it for very long.

That said I want to play a different profession that can support without being in group together. With support I don’t mean healing only, but buffing, debuffing, dpsing, healing etc. I have read the elementalist forums and it seems that the elementalist/tempest might be that profession.

Do you find the elite spec ‘the tempest’ fun?
Do you find that you can support groups/players without being in a party/group/raid?
How do you feel about the elementalist/tempest, as a supportive character?
Which weapon do you like most on the tempest?
Is it worth it to start a elementalist/tempest at this time? Seeing how long the expansion is out? (It might be difficult to level, heropoints, the tempest with the maps not being full anymore)
