Please Consolidate Aura Traits A-Net
2 arguments against what you want :
1- The whole point of the trait is to strengthen yourself in a certain gameplay be it defensive, support or offensive. You gotta make some choice and choice are vital to avoid unbalanced build.
2- If they were to merge some trait you would soon see people saying : “There is no synergy between [insert base spec without any aura trait] and the Tempest elite trait, why would you ever take [insert base spec without any aura trait] in a Tempest build, you d***!”
As it is, combining tempest with :
- Earth grant you more survivability
- Water allow you more support to your allies
- Fire is an easy access to aura that grant you might
- Air is a source of mobility
Being able to do everything in a single build would be unbalanced.
i think its good to be spreaded. I woul like to have one with fire affect all auras. For only fire its to weak and the other traits way better.
It’s better to have it spread, but imo, they should swap the grandmaster water and tempest aura, it just doesn’t make sense to make them as they are.
i have to say the whole thing about traits, is that they should “add” to the character, not give back what was already there or should have been there, this is what it feels like now.
The fact that ele in general requires these specs to even have any remote survivability shows how weak the design is, it should add to the strength and growth of the character, not add to the places that have been systematically nerfed/subtracted over the years.
When you think about it, what has anet actually done lately that has added anything worthwhile or fun to the players gameplay, it’s like the whole game is trying to mimic the great depression making everyone equally miserable.

A whole expansion !!!!
The expansion has many great things. Also some fails (especially wvw). And ist no depresion its more power creep. I am not happy with it but it could be worse.
Fire line auras effects need to be reworked to work on more then just fire auras. Auras on conja weapons seems very off and nearly random. Other then that earth is missing an aura generator and arcain line is lacking a good generator and added effect. But water air and tempest are good with auras.

Back during the betas, I would have agreed with you. But now that tempest is on every top pvp team, I fully disagree. Yes tempest is flawed in many ways, but does have a strong teamfight damage and support role, and the aura support would be too strong if powerful auras were baseline. Then every team would have permanent protection/shcoking aura/heals through being able to take fresh air and elemental shielding while still having powerful auras. Thats just too strong.
