Please Rework Earth Shield's Autoattack
yeah it’s kinda dumb. I was playing an earth shield focused build earlier, and I love how well you can chase with it, and how much damage it does, but it takes away control. It’s weird.
There’s really no good reason why this otherwise perfectly good weapon should have something as silly as a dash for its auto-attack. Leave the dashing to skill 3 and PLEASE rework the auto-attack to grant us more control of our survivability.
Its the only conjure that doesnt grant offensive stats, I dont think it was meant to do damage and the latest redesign reinforces that opinion. Its got two blocks and two crowd control skills and buffs tough/vitality and can offer decently high stacking protection. Not all weapons were meant to just spam auto attacks like lightning hammer, however I can agree its a pretty bad choice if you decide to go with the only trait for conjures.
no, the dash is amazing, but it shouldn’t lock you into the dash. if you press another button it should cancel
Same thing with Ranger’s Sword.
fixed ;P

From what I’ve heard, with the ranger it’s actually by design. Anet likes that you have less control over your dodges because you get the free evade.
During the Dec. 10th discussions, Jon Peters had talked about moving the evade to swoop because the current evade feels very RNG and that he would rather give the player more control over the evades.
Oh, I missed that. Thanks for the heads up.
@Thibash and Adastra. I believe Pyrasia was refering to the Hunter’s 1H sword and its autoattack chain locking you into a leap at the final attack in the chain, preventing you from dodging or moving. @OP’s original suggestion, I agree it’s just an annoyance.
