Guild Wars 2

If you notice, the animations of the Scepter for the Elementalist looks as if the power came from his hands not the Scepter, or as if the off-hand was casting it. Making the Scepter feel useless.

Only two abilities look like the Scepter is actually doing something: Water 1, Water 3.

The others make me wish I could hide the scepter since it would look better if it came out from his hands (because right now it looks as if the scepter was in the way.

I’ll post pictures of them individually.

First: Fire 1

The blast of this weak attack goes from the Fist, not the Scepter.

Scepter Fire 2:

He pulls the Tooth with the off-hand.

Scepter Fire 3:

He Trows the Phoenix with the off-hand.

Scepter Water 1:

The shards of ice come from the Scepter… this one is ok.

Scepter Water 2:

The Cluster is pointed by the Off-Hand

Scepter Water 3:

The Trident is sent from the Scepter… Good job!

Scepter Air 1:

Although The lightning comes from the Main hand… The particles don’t spawn from the Scepter. If you imagine this one without the Scepter in the main hand, it would look even better.

Scepter Air 2 & 3:
Even if there is no Animation for this two, the attack feels powerful so, it’s ok.

Scepter Earth 1:

Same as Scepter Air 1… If you are going to copy/paste an animation, let it be a good one not a mediocre one.

(This one would even look EXTREAMLY awesome without the Scepter)

Scepter Earth 2:

I Like this animation, but once more, it appears to be cast by the off hand.

Scepter Earth 3:

Same as most; looks good, but the Scepter is not the one that shines.

Even if you are never going to change this animations, please be sure to ask yourself: “What weapon is shinning with this animation?” When you make the animations for all the new weapons on every Specialization in the Present and Future.

So scepter makes you into the Avatar? Now if only there was a way to make a weapon invisible…

That is actually how I feel. But if you have a Scepter, or X weapon, make it shine with its abilities. \\(^__^)//

I much prefer feeling like my elementalist has their own power than the thought of them being crippled without a wand/staff/magic bean stalk…

Then why equip a Scepter in the first place? If it is the same with our without a weapon… it ends up looking silly. In you heart of hearts you know its true.

Still Ele are my favorite class, that’s why I’m passionate about how they look at everything.

I would rather have them to fix the actual weapon first before the animations, since I assume they cannot do both some reasonable time window.

Who am I kidding, it’s not gonna happen anyway.

Scepter animations are one reason I do not use scepter…
