I think this deserves a thread cause I wannnnaaaaaaa know what you guys think about the recent changes to this trait Geomancers Defense.

It was going to be 20% dmg reduction within 600 range
Now
10% dmg reduction within 360 range (little bit longer then a lightening whip attack)
At first I thought this trait was going to be a little bit strong, but now I think they over nerfed it. Would be nice to have a public test server >_>.
I think there should be something in the middle ex:
Either 10% dmg reduction at 600 range or 20% dmg at 360 range
Also they did mention they changed the ICD to Soothing Ice from 10 seconds to 20 seconds which made me do the kitten motion to my computer screen >_>
I think 15 seconds would be more reasonable

I think it’s ok.
The cooldown on soothing mist is due to the presence of frost aura. I think they had it setup as something else before (I’d have to check the notes). 40% uptime on frost aura would be beyond insane, 20% uptime is already quite good as it is.

The old geomancer’s defense as not OP mind you, go and check duffy gw2 spec calc. You’ll see the majority of profession have gained toughness boost related traits in what previously their own version of earth line, basically they gain same level of defense as they’d gain now by taking 300 toughness, hope I’ve been clear.
Overall yeah as I explained weeks ago, geomancer’s defense was not a buff but rather a cleverly disguised conversion of 300 toughness , but with the nerf the overall toughness gain is like 140 for maxing the earth line..yeah..a huge nerf
