Pls fix shatterstone and Dust Devil
Dust devil is in this crappy state cause it used to be a whirl finisher i suppose..No wonder what cool effect had shatterstone(maybe a blast) in closed betas
From reading the responce of the dev for the necro state and what it used to be in beta i guess many crappy filler spells we have were probably at some point in development stripped from various effects they had to become balanced but kept their cd and long casting times and travelling speeds??!
Probably imo..i gues having to rush the launch of the game didnt get them enough time to fix properly the spells so just removing their additional effects had to be enough
They’d have to do a lot more than increase the radius of Shatterstone to make it worth using. Also, I think Dust Devil is so slow because it’s an AoE blind.
Some of my issues:
(1) In the case of Dragon’s Tooth, I’d say it should either trade some damage so that it will drop once the 1 second cast time is complete, or the scepter should get a 3 second immobilize somewhere.
(2) Regarding Phoenix, first I want to point out that it does not travel directly up or down, meaning that it will often miss if its target is at a different elevation. This is even more of a problem when it is traveling upward than downward, as it will completely disappear into the object it is supposed to climb.
Now, on even terrain, Phoenix is a great skill aside from one flaw:IT’S REALLY SLOW.
It actually travels slightly slower than I do in combat, and I don’t think I need to tell you that that makes it pretty terrible at range. I’d like to see it move at the speed of Water Trident.
(3) It’d be nice if Shatterstone did more damage, chilled, and had a larger AoE radius – the recharge time would need to be increased due to the chill, of course.
(4) I’d like it if Water Trident healed the user when cast and only healed others when it hit the ground, so that I might have a reason to cast it at an enemy rather than my feet. (This isn’t really an issue, though.)
(5) I think Dust Devil should be replaced with another skill that is more damage-oriented; maybe just remove Hurl from Rock Barrier, increase its damage, and put it in Dust Devil’s place.
(6) Finally, I’d like to see all the autoattacks scale better with Power (especially Flamestrike).
Dust Devil should definitely be whirl finisher atleast, not sure about shatter stone… Maybe when it explodes, remove a boon, cause chill, or slightly more damage.
id like to see shatterstone become instant cast (but still with delayed damage) and dust devil become a whirl (again?)
…. even better; make dragons tooth instant cast too (probably wont happen… but i can dream)

Both were finisher (Blast and Whirl) on beta early builds. I guess thats why they are so grossly underpowered. The should imo go back to what they were.

Scepter in general needs some help. It lost a lot of its combo power but didn’t really gain any good sustain in exchange. Most of the 1 attacks could use some help, shatterstone needs to either slow targets in its aoe before detonating, or deal damage then pop for a spike. Dust devil needs to be a whirl again. Dragon’s tooth could stand to be faster in exchange for damage.
Fixing Focus would also be nice.

Not really, Focus is actually borderline overpowered.
Flamewall is ridiculous, if you traded damage for a bigger or longuer combo field it may make a sense. Fire Shield is… an Aura, but thats about it, 20s base recharge would fix it for utility.
Freezing Gust could have an AoE component.
The rest it is very strong. I can bear sucky fire if they dont nerf my Earth and Air.

Imo Dust Devil should be Wirl Finisher and Shatterstone should be blast, eventually adding an explode key (chain abilities).
Tooth and Pheonix are fine. Tooth is slow but recharges fast and hits like a truck. Pheonix has incredible utility, just the condi clean and vigor on 20s CD is amazing, damage and blast finisher on top of that is amazing.

I can’t say it is. I tested the damage in the mists with steady weapons and no stat boost (traits/jewels); Flamestrike is actually the heaviest hitting auto-attack of all scepter weapons because of burning.
On the topic shatterstone isn’t too bad mainly because of its fast cooldown, but it does need some tweaking. Can’t say the same for our poor Dust Devil though.

hurl is pretty fun with the gimmicky arcane power (immob on trait)>hurl>churning earth combo
focus is outshined by dagger in everything but projectile control and (straight up) defense (although offhnad dagger offers a heal; frost armour damage reduction and another evade)
focus:
– fire field (long lasting; worse damage and harder to combo with)
– fire shield (might; why is this on a defensive weapon?)
dagger:
– fire field (not as long lasting; but has nice instant damage and is easy to combo with)
– fire grab (hits like a truck – although can be tough to land)
focus:
– targetted chill
– daze (takes too long to land with a too small area; which makes it useless half the time)
dagger:
– frost aura (damage reduction and chills foes who attack you; although granted its a higher CD than focus chill… its also just better)
– heal and cleanse (shared with nearby allies too)
focus:
(earth is where the focus shines imo; but everything else is just horrible)
– reflect, cleanse and cripple (great skill)
– invuln (nice; but its only real use -imo- is to protect you when ccd – wouldnt you love if you could cast this whilst doing churning earth?; shame dagger/scepter mainhands dont have anything that puts you in the same sort of limbo)
dagger:
– high damage aoe CC
– high damage big aoe (with cripple; but delayed… which makes it hard to hit – especially as it makes you vulnerable whilst casting)
focus:
– projectile destroyer (good)
– single target knockdown (2s cc on a 50s cd? lol)
dagger:
– RTL (gap closer with aoe damage; even nerfed its still viable, allows d/d to get into range easier, is s/x only gap closer)
– aoe blow out (not ranged like the focus; but aoe, easy combo with a number of different dagger or scepter skills with an evade and swiftness – with a shorter CD than focus; lol)

…Until you start building Power and crit. Also, the Burning lasts longer than the cast-time, so it becomes less effective the more you use it because you’re just stacking Burning in duration, which slows your damage output.

Until you start building anything actually. Perma Burn alone is amazing “naked” dps.
Even if you see it from a pure Condition point of vue Bleed scales so much better with, duration, haste, number of application. Worste of all, there are billions of burn sources in the game and it doesnt stack in intensity (Elem alone can perma burn using a Signet and Burning Precision and not having to swap to Fire Attunement)…
And yeah, whever you add crit and power in the mix Flamestrike goes deep down.
….regarding Dust Devil , personally I see no reason for having a slow moving blind, the condition is supposed to be used actively like blinding flash but the long travel time of dust devil basically remove the usefulness of blind during a fight.
Maybe increase the dmg? Add cripple ?
Doesn’t Dust Devil blind EVERYONE it hits with no limits?
