Possible Ele Changes "Leaked Patch Notes"
I don’t see 0/10/0/30/30 going anywhere with those kinds of buffs. kitten , that’s gonna be some serious might stacking, especially if Sigil of Battle doesn’t change.
I already dropped boon duration runes from my build, and these notes make me glad I did.
And yay, hopefully scepter earth 3 won’t be the easiest blind in the world to dodge anymore. Blinds are s/d’s bread and butter. All ele weapons will be fun to try out this patch, even focus.

None of these changes are compelling enough to get me get out of water and arcane.
While these are nice changes, they don’t come with any increase survivability and thus I am still a free kill for any class that has a good amount of dps.
I go into water and arcane to improve my survivability not because I enjoy going to them. So these changes are nice PvE changes, it still wont bring ele into PvP meta though.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.

I’ll admit that I didn’t care enough about the other classes to go through and read word for word what was in their notes so I don’t know if this is comparable to their balance but honestly…those aura changes though.

why they are buff abilities/traits that don’t needed to be buffed?
ele is a active defence class with lowest hp/armor, why we have the highest cooldowns on CC (updraft 40sec) ? mein Gott
why warrior – heavy armor fighter with freaking greatsword has better mobility then light armor mage using lightning?
why ele’s are not rewarding for being so squishy? we must deal x2 damage before warrior
why ele’s are not rewarding for using multiple attunements/skill combos? why thief 2222 bot can outdamage and kill ppl with 1 button?
why we have long cooldowns for attunements/abilities?
why we have laughable auto atks and our best AA @ conjure LH
if you are have any hope for ele’s – leave it, there is no hope, you still will suck and get 5-10k backstabs while 2222 hero will laugh in your face.

The glass cannon specs seem to be unchanged but the tankier dps specs have seen substantial improvements. Enough? Arguable. At least ele will now bring the cleanse support it has needed. Will the Signet of Resto change be enough to make it super strong? Arguable, but it’s definitely a viable option now. Do you want to lose the cleanse from ether renewal? Probably not.. but dagger specs see a nice sustain boost from using RS. Additionally, our changes has brought a new role to ele
and it’s one hell of a role! I’m sure plenty of people will have tons of fun messing around with what they can do on ele now.

Removing the cooldown on cleansing water would buff staff ele against conditions. It wouldn’t be the first time a dev exaggerated about the impact of a change.
If the notes are fake, they’re pretty good fakes. The changes seem very close to what anet usually does. I kinda hope they are real and shocking aura damage works with aura share. Grab 5 eles and use shocking aura all at once. 25 hits would only have to deal 600 damage to be an instant cast 15k aoe spike. Nice gimmick team for the lols.

That was my thought too… but given past history I suspect the notes are accurate. Which would imply the staff, on its own, is pretty much the same. A 10% condition reduction for a 5 second skill you can use every 30 seconds doesn’t sound “scary good” compared to the current.
I’m actually happy that they’re trying to buff auras (if the notes are real). I think they might still buff Magnetic Aura in the future because it’s still pretty weak for a 30 second CD skill

nope it said that only activation from original aster deals dmg, the shared auras wont havr the additional effect

The notes I see say “Other sources of shocking aura will not grant this additional effect.” The source for everybody would be the same, the person that activated shocking aura. Even how you put it, “activation from the original caster,” doesn’t exclude the caster applying it to others.
I don’t actually think it will work that way; it is more of an amusing “what if” scenario. However, the notes don’t explicitly say it won’t happen.
But there are no other ways to get shocking aura unless an ele gives it to you.No field combos. So ..there would be no point to include that unless they were specifically refering to aurashare in that case and perhaps the air gm trait. I dont think it ll work

Maybe there would be a d/d spec that also comes up and s/f and s/d are slightly stronger..and thats it. Where is that new role, Tyler was talking about? Super cleansing heal bot?? Or some kind of hybrid with perma 25 mightstacks? Fyi guards might on crit trait will have no icd.. LOL
I honestly dont understand it. It might make ele stronger but i dont think it ll more fun..at least for me. And they still dont get it..Eles dont go into fire cause that means no survivability and for dps air and fresh air will still be superior. It doesnt matter if you can get 25 might easier and more burning.

What i think they’re doing is buffing the ele a little by little. If the ele turns out to still be a kittenty class in sPvP after the balance patch, they will make the aura changes work with Aura share trait. That will give the ele a decent role in team arenas. Imagine being able to give your team frost aura (Take 20% less damage + protection with traits = 53%) and shocking aura with massive CC.

Cleansing Water revert is, of course, the big thing. Soothing Wave, here I come!
Kinda wish they’d just slap 10% damage reduction on all auras instead of going for these different secondary effects.
If we got balance updates every month, these changes would be great – they’re cautious, yet enough to potentially cause significant changes, and they should be left to sit for a while. However, we don’t, so…

This patch would fail to address the survivability issues of anything other than that.
