Supportive staff build, for all around pve including soloing.
Which stat to go with?

With power heavy gear it´s such a pleasure to blow through mobs.

With condition damage i´m afraid that killing things might slow down considerably, as most conditions on staff aren´t too quick to set up (and the fact i´d have to actualy swap away from fire more often).

As i´m not planning on going with max amounts of either options, which scales better at lower amounts, works better in general and kills stuff faster, anyone have any statistics or ideas?

I would probably choose power over condi damage for staff, though I do OK with carrion gear + cleric accessories. At this time several gearsets isn’t really in the budget, and since I also love dual daggers, the even spread has been working for me.

At lower levels, condition damage tears through mobs with ease. By level 40 or so it starts dropping off as mobs get more HP, meaning that you’ll generally have to get a mix of Power and Condition Damage, or Condition Damage + Precision.

I personally would stick with condition damage if I were going D/D, but I’m not so sure about staff. Staff has less ways to inflict burn and bleed reliably.

Power. You have little condition damage past bleeding from Eruption and some burning from Fire.

Carrion gear is great. Both Power and Condition. I think ultimately you want a good mix of both. I have melted crowds of people with bleed stacks combined with the 20% extra bleed duration.

I kinda a hybrid. And from what I’ve experienced (being full power once and full condition also) hybrid is quite effective.

I used D/D generally main the water side of things, but pop to fire for flame breathe for some OP burn duration.

I feel like it’s usually not worth it to go for condition damage on gear in general. You can easily get a decent amount of condition damage just by stacking might via fire field + blast finisher combos.

Staff is more direct damage than conditions, so for staff you want to focus on power. You don’t really have good access to bleed and burn (your only source of bleed is a long-windup AOE spell in an attunement you don’t really want to sit in for long periods), and your main damage comes from meteors and fireball which are direct damage that don’t burn.

For D/D or S/D, condition damage becomes much more important because you stack a lot of bleed (earth spam attack stacks bleed) and have easy access to keeping burn up 100% of the time. I use carrion for non-staff builds.

In PvE, Power. Cond Dmg is limited in group fights so your usefulness in vet and champ fights will be diminished.

Anyone have any stats on how well each of the damage types scales at lower amounts of stats?

By going support i´ll be already dedicating big amount of stats to healing, some more to toughness for survival and then i have limited amount i can put in either power or condition damage.
So does anyone know how well adding smaller amounts of condition dmg fare against going full power?

Also i might add that i want to min vitality and max toughness, so that my heals are more effective on myself, so +vit gear is out of question…which drops lot´s of item sets :/ (soldiers, shamans and carrion namely)
