Guild Wars 2

I’m picking up Tempest again and want to run this thought by others with more experience, so I can know how much I’m sacrificing with this build and if I’m sacrificing too much.

I’m running a build very similar to the meta one , but with the following swaps:
Traits: Water -> Air (Fresh Air)
Amulet: Celestial -> Marauder
Runes: Soldier -> Durability
Sigils: Geomancy/Doom -> Air/Blood

I like D/F (and S/F) Fresh Air Tempest quite a lot, and have always liked more bursty builds in general. Is there any merit to sacrificing Celestial’s defensive utility to maximize Tempest’s damage? Are there any other swaps I should be considering for offense— perhaps Viper’s Amulet, or Rune of Surging?

There’s not much else to it, but feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!

Don’t see anything wrong with fresh air, but the sigils seem to be off. If you are using marauder you are focusing on damage with conditions like bleed, cripple, burn, and freeze being small and more on air attunment, which has a big focus on blinds, weakness and vulnerability. Celestial excels at having something able to handle just about any thing. When you gravitate away from Celestial you are then making a build that is focused on a custom/specific play, so it is always good to understand the attunements you want to focus on. Whats fun about elementalist is there are more combinations depending on the weapon and style of play you are looking for.

Air Attunement

I use hoelbrak runes, sigils of air+strength. Switch Diamond skin with stone hearth imo, saying above 90 on marauder seems a bit too hard.

It’s absolutely viable!! When I get bored of play cele bunker I’ll switch it up with fresh air. Though I use soldier runes with fresh air for the condi cleanse still, and I use scrapper runes if I’m running the water traitline. I use air and force sigils, and I have quite a bit of success!
