So I met this dude in a dungeon who was running a supposedly ‘new and awesome’ build..
I know the feature pack changed LH to take on the properties of the owner’s weapon rarity and caused a small DPS boost for LH. This dude is running a build in which he, outside of might stacking, permanently camps water attunement and uses mostly lightning hammer. He said he takes the vulnerability 20% dmg trait in water magic and tempest defense trait in air magic. I only got to discuss it briefly but my guess is his traits look something like 6/6/0/2/0. I dont have much knowledge on tempest defense and I don’t see how one could keep up that damage buff throughout a whole fight. The guy was doing the most DPS in my group as far as I could see (e.g. when he was the first to target and attack an elite mob i saw its hp go down faster then when I use LH with my d/f build)

Looking for some imput on this build from the veteran ele’s here on the forum. It seems like an interesting build and would like to try it out if its valid. I’ve always loved lightning hammer

Tempest Defense is an awesome trait if you are CCing the target.. Say, if you want to use an IceBow #5 on a boss, for those seconds Tempest Defense grants a 20% increase in damage to that target. So, if your group was CCing trash mobs and bosses it would be fine to use it.. But usually it’s used with FGS, LH is not fast enough to be worth using that trait.. There are lots of better options to trait into..

I have another question not wanna make new thread. If i am the only burning applier in the group is it worth losing that trait and 50 power and get bountiful power instead since it will have higher uptime and assuming 4 boons active most of the time. Or is the non permenant uptime of 10% dmg and 50 power more effective power?

It depends.. The Fire Precision Trait helps alot maintaining the 10% while burning trait up.. Bountiful Power is 1% damage increase PER boon.. you would need pretty much 4boons + a few stacks of might to make the difference noticeable.. And in PuGs (I assume you PuG from your first post) that’s actually not easy to get.. So, in my opinion the Fire traits are safer.. But you can always change and test if for yourself.
