People may say eles are already OP dont buff them bla bla…

But heres a good suggestion, i have been feeling like attunements are pretty nice but yet they are missing some stuff, an active on use special ability, just like engineers, so:

-Add to each attunement a special on-use effect. You must be attuned to that element before using it. For example, switch to fire, it does the usual global cooldown of 1 second, and after that you can press the fire attunement again for an active effect, like gain 3 stacks of mights to you and all your allies.
I know this can be somehow achieved by using traits (arcane one?) but this should be a different effect.

-Also, it would be nice to every attunement give a pasive ‘aura’ buff, small, just like soothing mist from water traits, but this again, should come passively from any attunement and without traits.

With these two changes, we could actually do more builds, since currently we are kinda forced to go for the traits giving a similar effect for the above said.
Obviously, replace current traits which gives those effects with new and equally useful ones.

Although I think an on-effect skill at every attunement wouldn’t be a bad idea, the only suggestion you give (3 stacks of mght) is completely in the wrong direction. It would only further encourage boon stacking eles, which is kinda the only setup that works really good atm. Which means Arcana would become even more mandatory then it now is (so there would actually be LESS flexibility)

I think they would do better to just lower the cooldown of all attunements to for example 12 seconds, and lowering the effect of Arcana to 30% recharge rate max. If they give us good traits in currently unused lines as well, we would be fine IMO.

3x mights was just an example, i only wish we could have an active effect just like engineers.

IMHO make elemental attunement passive for the ele. Let the trait change it so it gives the boons upon switching to allies too. Then lower the switching cooldown by default to 11 seconds, maybe nerf some things, and then we wouldn’t have to spec 20+ points into arcane with every build.

Still an active effect would be nice… Eles seems to be missing something.

All Elements trait lines have a passive effect on their very first minor trait, it’s not only Soothing Mist. Also all Element trait lines have an ability related to that attunement activating when you change attunement, again as a Minor Trait. I don’t think we need more skills than that.

I like this idea. It would cement concept of the trait line as a party boon support rather than crutch for the elementalists to remain competitve.

You do know that Elemental Attunement already gives boons to allies right?

Pretty much. But the problem right now is that players are shooting themselves in the foot for pigeonholing themselves into choosing that one trait, and that’s the real problem here. I think one problem to solve it is for the devs to do what Aether suggested- to make the boon on attunement for the player baseline and sharing it with allies an arcane trait.

Hmm…I see. What would that accomplsih exactly, other than making bunker builds even more powerful relative to dps builds?

Bunkers are only OP due to the game type and its implementation. By freeing up more points to be put into air or fire dps builds will be more accessible. Furthermore, eles would give up team support by putting more points into damage traits.

It would gives u 20 trait points. Because right now every build needs 20 arcane for the attunement cooldown, and 10 of those are bound to elemental attunement for the boons.

So it wouldn’t matter that bunker builds can now stack vigor on top of the buffs they already have?

Or that all eles can now use boon stacking to the point that boons are no longer temporary effects but near-permanent stats?

Or that water 25 suddenly no longer becomes optional, because all eles’ mechanics are now centered around boons?

If none of that matters, then I suppose it’s a possible change.
