[REQ] Dragon's Tooth
Has it at least been fixed so that it does damage if you dodge before it lands? Haven’t played scepter in months to test it.

I think dragontooth works just fine scepter only needs some CC to aid it
Actually it really confuses me that it’s not already… every other one of our non-pb aoe attacks uses ground targeting. Did they really think it would be too op with ground targeting? As if the quarter-century landing time didn’t balance it out enough?

Oh, we could really use some decent non-condition based damage in the earth attunement, as well.
An overall buff to the direct damage of the autoattacks would be awesome, too.

it’s too slow and easy to dodge, but this would be acceptable IF they boosted x3 its damage.
At some point, the devs are going to address the issues with Elementalist’s Scepter skills. And when that occurs, I believe the very first thing that wll be looked at will be Fire skill 2, Dragon’s Tooth.
But please God (and Devs), don’t make Dragons Tooth ground-targeted, simply reduce the animation time a little bit.
Please Devs, do not add another GT skill to this weapon set.
Besides, reducing the hovering animation time would correct what everyone hates about this skill in it being too easy to run/dodge away from. In effect, reducing the hovering animation time would not be adding yet another ground-targeted skill while still allowing the possibilty of people being able to avoid the attack if they react quickly enough.
While this skill needs to be adjusted, I ask, just please, nothing drastic.
by level 80 should have the best statistical loot in the game.

Regarding immobilize, there’d be an easy place to put it too.
Scepter air has #2 and #3 as two instant attacks, one damages and one blinds. Should be combined into 1 to make room for a new skill.

What’s wrong with ground-targeting? I mean, it works for engi grenades and necro staves, and it’d be a nice tool I could use to combat stealthed thieves.

As it works now you can use DT in WvW to hit siege and players behind gates and up on walls. Ground targeting would take this away. On the flip side however this is likely something that is going to get taken away anyways since Mesmer and Ranger abilities to do similar things have already been nerfed at some point.
