1.) So, which gender/race floats the most while using spells? I would like to roll an Elementalist, but I find it very hard to find an answer online via browsing YouTube videos – there is just not enough of them for all the gender/race combinations. I love floating. I am mainly talking Meteor Shower – for example I saw a Sylvari male not spinning and floating and I found it surprising because I already find the racial animations to be a thing to consider and I had thought that gender did not influence the animations. So even gender has an influence. Meh.
2.) Any other best animations/most floating spell-casters (Necro, Mesmer) or basically coolest animation gender and racial choices?
3.) Is a cool gender-influenced animation rare or a thing to generally consider?
meteor shower is the only animation that I am aware of being notably different between male/female. female sylvari/human/norn have that spin thing, while their male counterparts do more of a stormcaller thing. and asura does a kind of combination since they throw a spin in there. but they don’t float. And I don’t think there’s any difference between male/female on asura and charr on any skills.
As for what floats the most, I’m pretty sure it’s asura. and gender doesn’t matter. They float if you’re stationary while using a breath attack (drake’s breath, cone of cold), during burning speed, a little bit with overload fire, and while everyone floats during overload water, theirs is more floaty. The floatiest animation in the game imo.
1.) So Meteor Shower is probably the only spell in the game with such a gender difference?
2.) So if I generally want a floaty character, I should go with an Asura, regardless of gender and of profession, right? (not only Asura Eles float, but Asuras in general?)
3.) And if I really wanna spin and float while casting Meteor Shower, then Asura is NOT the choice, and I should go with a female Sylvari/Human/Norn? And sacrifice a lot of other floating I would otherwise get with an Asura? I would love to see what actually Asuras do while doing Meteor Shower since you mentioned it is kinda a combination of a sort.
There isn’t much floating in this game in general, and asura do more jumping and spinning than floating, but yes on all 3 counts. And they do a jump spin and then the male animation.
If you want to see the Asura male and female animations whisper me in game tonight. I run a male Tempest and can get one of my guildies to bring a female Asura Tempest to show you anything you would like to see.

Guardian empower also has a huge animation difference between genders I can’t think of any others.

If you want floating, why not get the electromagnetic glider? (I think it’s called that way). It’s a really cheap toy that will have your ele floating whenever he/she is not in combat. Also has some flashy particle effects.
Wow, sounds great! I am new to the game, I still have not created my Elementalist, and my Mesmer is level 37. I have very little time to play so it will take me some time But will get it, I hope!
