So how do you guys have yours set up for your elementalist. I just got mine and wanted to see how others set there up to maybe help me along.

I personally swaps my naga side keys to numpad and bind F1-F4 to numpad 1-4
so much easier to swap attunements

My 6 side keys are bound to numpad and those are my weapon skills. 1-5 are utility. F1-F4 are the same.

Although I don’t bind the keys in number order. I bind them in the order that feels right to my fingers. Since it’s a Hex the keys are in a circle basically (go here for reference http://files.g4tv.com/ImageDb3/290460_S/razer-announces-the-naga-hex-gaming-mouse-designed-for-moba-gamers.jpg). For some reason 1, 4, 2, 3, 6, 5 is the order that feels right to me in most games so I keybind that way, with 1, 4, and 2 being my most important/most used skills.

i left all my 1-9 abilities the same, rebound 10 to 11, since its easier to hit the middle row of numbers. and changed f1-f4 to shift1-shift4. weapon swap is shift5. its easier to use shift modifier with a naga than anything else. my hand never leaves WASD.

the person above me had a good idea to rebind abilities to buttons that feel right, but i think its way too late in the learning curve to change up those for me. I’m just used to using them as asigned

I have so many extra buttons though =/ …wish I could bind more stuff.

1-10 on my naga are my skills, utilitys and elite. 11 and 12 are F1, F2. Alt 11, Alt12 for F3 and F4. My left hand never leaves Q, W, E this way. Also I rebound my tab to target closest enemy and I use C to cycle next enemy because my thumb is already sitting right there for alt and spacebar.

This way, 1-9 mapped to 4-12 feels the same as it would be like a phone pad, easy to remember. My thumb naturally falls on 4-6, and 10-12 I press with the middle of my thumb.

Nice to see it’s used in so many different ways.

Naga set to Numpad
Keys 2 & 5 feel most natural, so I have most of my skills bound to the both of them.
I’m used to using modifier keys a lot (shift, ctrl, alt) from in my Logitech MX500 – WoW days.. I always try do do as many skills via the mouse as possible

So :

2 = Autoattack skill 1
Shift + 2 = skill 2
Alt + 2 = skill 3
5 = skill 4
Shift + 5 = skill 5

I replaced all of the ele’s attunement bindings from “f1 – f4” to “left alt” + (1, 2, 3, 4).

This way, I’ll be able to use all my skills via naga’s normal buttons, or switch attunements via left thumb pressing “left alt” and right thumb pressing 1 – 4. Works very well for me.

lol, all these combinations. Just keep it simple.

1-9 as 1-9. Moving your thumb is not hard.

Attunements- Alt+1-4. Instantly switch and never move your thumb.

That’s all you really need to do.

I have a g600, same concept, better software.

I have my attunes, auto-run, and push to talk set to the mouse. I have a bunch of unused keys, but its best to work into these a little slowly. Alot of muscle memory to up to speed.

Shift 1-4 bound to attune dancing. 1-10 Normal.

i have a naga and an n52te nostromo.

on the naga i put tagetting stuff.

the rest of the many buttons i do not have mapped… i will get around it when i get another character to 80. i plan on using them for canned responses and gestures.

i have issues with the many buttons on the naga… they are small, numerous and have no texttile change. I also use my thumb to stabilize the mouse a lot and i do not have the dexterity built to delicately use my thumb.

the nostromo just falls right in place. almost like the game was designed with it in mind…

1-0 normal alt1-4 for f1-f4 scroll wheel = weapon swap i never cared for 11-12 so i dont use them my hands are to big an to bend my thumb in that far to hit them feels strange lol anyways

This. Plus I map Naga keys 6-0 to keyboard 6-0 so basically my left hand does movement (wasd) and attacks while right hand does attunement swapping and skills.

1-10 on the naga are my action abilities with the attunement swapping to be q,e,r,f. That way I don’t even have to mess with the F buttons.

the F is technically my middle mouse button. In game I set the interact command to the middle mouse button, thus the button is for picking up loot bags in wvw ;-)

and attunement swaps are with shift-1, shift-middle-mouse-button, shift-2 and shift-3.

the important thing for me is: I never have to leave my wasd keys, thumb is for jumping/alt key and small finger for shift/control modifiers. the rest happens on the mouse.

on my new engi it doesn’t seem to work as well, because I have to use the skills 7-9 a lot more often which leads to a lot of switching between the 2 blocks of buttons – for my ele I don’t have to do that as often, as the cooldowns are so incredibly high (I usually have arcane wave, some kind of clense or immobilize for wvw and mist form or flash)

retraining after starting the ele on the keyboard alone took some time (about 1-2 weeks I’d say). by now it feels very natural and intuitive for me. I no longer have to think about which button to use, just what skills I want and my fingers do the job =)

My 5 side keys are bound to numpad and those are my utility skills. 1-5 are my weapon skills . I use Fire and Air mostly so I bound Fire to mouse 3 , Air to mouse 4 and Earth to mouse 5.

I use the Logitech G600, which has a similar (though much nicer) 12-keypad on the left side of the mouse. I only macro’d 6-0 to it. I found that I was much less efficient when I macro’d the F keys or the 1-5 keys to my mouse. 6-0 are the ones that are hard to reach (and that I use less frequently), so I found that macroing just them to the mouse was the most efficient solution.

Best fail of me with keybinds ever:
-Set teamspeak talk button to Alt.
-Leave earth attunement on F4 and set it to any mouse button…
-Now you can speak while change attunements (on keyboard, can’t touch the Alt AND the F4 at the same time)…
-Profit… (Alt+F4 immediately closes GW2.)

Plz DO NOT TRY this, it works…

I only use the middle column for 2 cantrips and Elite:
2: Armor of Earth
5: Mist form
8: Elite

3rd cantrip:
Mouse3: Lightning Flash (for quick and precise teleport)

Heal:
1

I use the Logitech g600, but it’s largely the same for this.

1-4: Profession mechanic. This way, I can quickly swap attunements just by moving off from WASD briefly.

F1-F4: Weapon skills 1-4, bound to the first 4 thumb keys.
5-0: Weapon skills (as normal), bound to all but 2 of the thumb keys, in order.

This way, I can cast all my skills without having to move my hand too far from WASD.

I also have mouse wheel tilt left bound to 1 and tilt right bound to Look Back, which allows me to easily use the profession mechanics for my other characters (most of which just use the first key) and to glance behind me quickly.

Middle-mouse is dodge, and the g600 has a third mouse key which I use for “Select Nearest Target.”

I don’t use attunements with my right hand. I have a Nostromo and use four directions on the thumbstick for my F1-4 keys.

I have my naga keys set to the f keys, so I only really use the side keys for f1-f4. I have 6-0 rebound to shift+1-5, use on E, weapon swap on Q. Dodger it set to MB4 for ease of clicking with my index finger (I have the original naga so they to the left of the left mouse button).

What about macros?
SPACE+dodge for jumps, or
AOE loot + F for loot and use anything
Thinking about to do AOE loot before dodge or right click to not forget that stoooopid sacks…
A switchable left ctrl should be useful too…

I keep it simple on my naga too.

1-10 on the Naga for all my skills, I have no trouble reaching them
11 = autorun
12 = stow/draw weapons

Mouse wheel click = dodge
Buttons 5 (underneath the mouse wheel) = weapon swap

ESF = forward, strafe left/right
D = about face (turning on the spot)

QWRT = F1-4 for easy attunement switching
Alt = Push to talk
Space = Jump

That’s the gist of it. I have played around with using only 1-5 on the naga and AZXCV for heal/utilities/elite, and I like that too.
