Guild Wars 2

Title says it mostly, i am just returning to the game from about a 2 year break. I’ve picked up HoT and been playing a few days, in which i switched from my engi to an ele. My question is this..

1. Are there any semi Unique builds that are viable in WvW? or is it staff to win?
2. Is scepter viable at all in WvW? it used to be a weapon i enjoyed a ton, as a semi midrange caster type.
3. is Scepter / Dagger viable these days? or do most go a variation of Sc/F or Sc/W?

Any and all suggestions are welcome. Just attempting to find my nitch. Not really interested in PvE. So i’d say ill be doing 80% WvW and 20% Spvp.

In general wvw ppl play staff. It is possible to build a celestial frontline with tempest now. As far as roaming goes scepter is good with a team. The biggest thing is cheese builds that everyone runs since they dont balance around wvw roaming

Try scepter focus or scepter dagger for roaming. But for zergs, sadly staff is better. I am way bored with it, and if you love scepter builds, you will be too I guess.

I have my ele builds there for WvW. I’d recommend dagger/warhorn for roaming, staff for larger group play.

Scepter is not very good these days, needs more aura applying skills to be worth playing in the current meta.

I enjoy Sc/F hybrid build with tempest. Neither fresh air nor auramancer …. It´s condi heavy with less sustain then a regnerating auramancer.
Earth/Fire/Tempest. It´s a personal build and i like it. I am curently trying to finalize it and move it to earth/arcane/tempest changing my rune from traveler to durability …
I use viper + rabid + celestial pieces.
I have a staff in reserve.
