S/D Elementalist tPvP - arenas video 2015
Iam afraid that this build is so outdated, that it wont work in PvP outside of Practise mod. You lack dmg, you lack survivability. Even skilled player wont make this build work.
Ty for reply. I play with this build pure ranked arenas and haven’t problem.
Unfortunately I deleted by mistake my video so new URL is:

very cool, i rarely see other sc/d eles. Just started running a build a lot like that with a larger focus on cantrips for wvw. Everyone keeps telling me to go sc/f fresh air, but im playing for fun and it seems to work just fine for me.
0/4/0/4/6 zerk with some cele parts

Ty for your nice reply. I am glad that my video liked you.
I don’t get what your “surpises” are. I saw nothing out of the normal
Jedi – Revenant, Tylox – Thief, Roeina – Ele, Korimor – Warrior

I still S/D Fresh Air Ele all the time on a similar build setup. Works great, lots of burst people don’t expect. More stationary defensive classes really pay if they don’t catch the Dragon’s Tooth combo but still take a truckload of damage regardless. Prefer Celestial amulet though.
I know /F is super fashionable these days but I still prefer /D. Lots of great defenses in /D that really work out well.
I also prefer “own” build too than metabuild which are now very popular. S/D setup fits for me.
The build is okay, but i think its a bit outdated aswell, you run valk which gives you extra toughness, but you are lacking the Health pool to stay alive effectively in most fights.
And you run 14% Crit chance, for me personally thast the turnoff of that build, plus you don’t have any fury generation to compensate for that extremely low crit chance, yet you run a crit chance proc sigil and have 200% ferocity.
I mean, sure it can work in some PvP against some players, but i can’t see you doing considerate damage consistently, as i saw in the video, unless someone is running around you and feeding you fury, then you are doing very little damage.

Ty for reaction. It’s truth that this build isn’t mainstream and has disadvantages. You are right that lower HP can be problem and sometimes really is. Compared with Celestial ele there is harder to keep alive but on the other side this is pleasant challenge for me.
I don’t see this build working against good players either. 14% crit chance so you lack damage, extremely low hp pool and only 1 stunbreaker so you lack sustain. Your opponents are scrubs throughout the entire video. You get knocked down with a health pool of 12k hp and two opponents (with one of them being a zerk ranger) don’t manage to deal severe damage. You are in close combat, start churning earth without any kind of shield or whatsoever (which you should NEVER do) and that ranger just takes it and dies.
If you want a challenging build, go for the s/f blinding ashes/fresh air zerker build. That build will also work against good players if you can handle it.

I play this build just for fun. I’m not ESL player so in pure ranked arenas it is enough to satisfy for me.
I suggest you try and swap around your Valk for Berserker amulet and see how it goes for you, shouldn’t change how things are too much, you will lose 600 toughness but gain 300 vitality, which means you are getting about 300 toughness back out of it worth of stats but you crit rate will go above 40%, which is a susbstantial increase in sustained burst.
But if you insist on running valk, then i would suggest changing the rune you use, because it doesn’t benefit you much at all, its hard keeping 90%+ hp in PvP effectively and you do not gain much from the ferocity on that rune. Try use Rune of the Pack, it will provide a bit of fury generation, some more precision and power.
Or don’t, however you wish.
I appreciate how you pick your own build and play it because it’s fun to you since this is what matters in the end. But why not optimize it a little bit? Sometimes it takes a little push to try something different but maybe you’ll be happy that you tried it.
Of course I don’t ignore your feedback and I am glad that you have interest to help me and comment my build/play.
I don’t think valk is good without fury and enough vitality from other sources… you will be vulnerable to conditions without hp or heavy cleanse and you wont get anything from your on crit sigil and ferocity stat without crits (14% crit chance is a joke when you use on crit sigil), wasted stats…
it’s not worth to pick Zephyr’s Boon when you have only 1 aura in S/D, so you can’t get fury from it, I would maybe switch Sigil of Fire to Sigil of Intelligence to get some crits
I love the hardcore music for the horrible build lol.
In the spirit of not just dropping hilarious words I’ll share this tip: focus (offhand).

In my opinion chose music is very subjective. My favourite music genres are rock and metal so it was initial choise for me to compose these genres to my videos.
Build compared with “meta-modern style” is atypical but complies for me.
