Guild Wars 2

So, before I used to play Guild Wars 1, and one thing I always hated about playing the Elementalist was having to stand still to cast Attunements before entering battle in order to upkeep my energy.
Then Guild Wars 2 came out, and with its huge upgrade to mobility in combat, I could finally play an Elementalist that could jump right into battle without rooting itself before every encounter just to get by.

These days Elementalist seem to have been reduced to little more than Might stack
slaves. If you don’t stack Might before a battle you’re a bad Elementalist and you and your team heavily suffers for it. So, basically the Elementalist is back to square one, except there’s even more buttons to press while we stand in place just to get our class working optimally.

Sad Elementalist is sad.

inb4 discussion moves from ele uses to PvE dps zerk meta bickering.

I stack Might in Air Attunement so I think I can safely say I am an amazing Elementalist.

Psst, if you stack might during a battle then you save time and increase your dps

Well, pre stacking might is important for the initial burst with ice bow. To be fair, Zelyhn doesn’t play staff in pve as often i guess. For D/F, pretty much charge in and ramp up your might.

Well yes staff is a different story. But if you play S/x then stacking in combat and subsequently using IB results in time gains.

My comment about on what is bad elementalist or what is a good elementalist was directed at those people who go through dungeons like a train goes from point A to point B: if there happens to be even just a single bump on the tracks then all hell breaks loose and they do not know how to react. This makes me think of overly disciplined circus animals who would panic if the show does not fit perfectly to what their trainer taught them. We are the masters of the elements, not their slaves! Brothers, don’t reduce our beautiful class to the cheap tricks that inferior professions expect from us

dont be sad… its not like warriors are told to go phalanx strength all the time…

do whatever you wanna do. Or ask your party what they are running and with a few switches from you and s few other members youll have blast finishers, healing, mass aoe, might stacks, fury everything…
