Q:
Same radius with Lava Font and Fireball?
Fireball has an AoE of its self. When casting this skill while ‘Blasting Staff’ is traited you will gain the bigger AoE hitbox of Fireball.
It has. Just go max range and focus a foe, without having ‘Blasting staff’ traited. Now go slightly over max range – when the message says ‘out of range’. Retrait, now with blasting staff. When now facing the foe it still says out of range but you will hit the mob regardless, because of the bigger hitbox of fireball’s AoE.
I hope that could clear some things up.
Best regards
Looking at the skill description when you have Blasting staff it says both have radius of 180.
While 180 radius seems big for Lava Font I had no idea (not even visual) that Fireball had the same area of impact.
Is the skill description true?
Probably true, i mean fireball has a explosion with the 180 radius when it hits the target, damanging everyone around that target, and might be very well true that the explosion is the size of the lava font.
Indeed it is. I frequently toss fireball without a target into the ground with my lava font to ensure I hit a pile of mobs consistently, among other reasons.

This makes me thing that we don’t even need to select a target. just cast LavaFont at range and spam Fireballs at your feel for melee damage
You can, I do it all the time to targets that have reflection up, Jade Maw in particular. You can also manually aim fireballs with your camera.
