How ridiculous would it be for a D/D Elementalist (30/20/5/5/10) to mix and match the level 80 exotic karma armor to achieve highest P/T/V possible and re-seat them with Superior Runes of the Undead…or something like that?

Not sure how detailed I need to be so I’ll leave it at that for now and see if it was enough to make me look like a complete newb.

yea wouldn’t crusify you for doing that. It’s concidered quite standard and powerful to get all the karma PVT armor pieces. And then you can use more dps or more healing oriented crafted Bling if necessary. Or get the invader PVT bling.

After looking at the sets it appears that there’s no PTV leggings or shouldpads so I think that I’m going to end up with a set of Balthazar armor with a Grenth helm. I’ll probably replace the ruins for the Undead, Vampirism, or Elementalist set and then use my accessories to fill in the blanks as needed (like you said).

I have no idea how much attention I should be spending towards Precision, Crit, any Durations, or even Healing Power…I just know that I can currently rip through things quickly so long as they don’t tear me apart first so my main focus needs to be better survivability. I’m guessing that once I get this armor completed I’ll be able to tell if I’m suffering too much in the other areas or not. Up until now I haven’t really worried all to much about anything other than P/V/T and Condition Damage and it’s worked out well so here’s hoping it stays that way.

I just don’t want to be so squishy anymore.

Shoulders are from same as gloves, Archon. So get 5 pieces and let’s say Carrion leggings.

You should not go for healing gear without 30 arcane 15+ water (and a group to heal). So don’t worry about that.

About stats Power is always safe bet and in most cases the optimal stat versus crit and crit dmg. And because of D/D has alot of fury it makes crit even more “redundant”.
Altho if you run Pyromancers puisance and tend to blast in fire as often as possible (talking about 2600+ power and 70%+ crit damage (with fury)) you can concider using crit foods and crit sigil. Or swapping to knight accessories instead of say PTV.
So as you can see, you have to go quite far to make it worth it dps wise.

Or you could just do 1 god temple event buy a full light armor set and transmute full AC gear

Edit: dont use healing power its a pathetic stat just put 30 into water and youll be fine on cond removals/healing

Also what i did for armor was get a full set of berserks with soldiers accessories and i have no problem staying alive in every dungeon except arah (i swap back to my full soldiers set for arah)

On my Ele (in D/D) I am running a full set of P/V/T armor/weapons. I run 2x Superior Rune of the Monk, 2x Major Rune of the Monk, 2x Superior Rune of Water for as much boon duration as possible. I run a Superior Rune of Bloodlust (up to 25 stacks of power) and a Superior Rune of Battle (3x Might on attunment swap with a small cooldown) on my weapons. I run the Rare Soldier’s back brace (P/V/T) with an Exquisite Sapphire Jewel (Healing/Power/Toughness). I then run a full set of Healing/Power/Toughness jewelry.

It works exceptionally well for me. I am going to be trying a full set of beserker’s jewelry once I get some cash to craft them to try it out, but I absolutely love the extra heals I get right now.

You could always run AC exp a bunch of times (easy loot, gold, and FUN) and buy their whole PVT set for about 1200 ascalonian tears. That’s what I’m in the process of doing!

This is a great supplement to the karma gear. Use both in conjunction and you should be able to ding 80 and have a full set of Exotic armor/weapons with P/V/T gear instantly as long as you collect karma and do AC Exp all paths while leveling.

Which Karma pieces provide PVT? How does it compare to the AC gear? I only have around 400 tears right now and if I could supplement my AC gear with Karma temple gear (I have a crap ton of Karma) that would get me WvW ready so much quicker!

Do I understand from this discussion that Karma P/V/T gear is better than AC gear?

Karma P/V/T gear is the same stat wise as the AC gear. The only difference are the runes and look of the armor (both of which can be easily changed).

Oh wow, thanks! I can just get Legs and Shoulders from AC now (as well as the daggers) and then use my buttload of Karma from those vendors! Thanks!

5/6 pieces can come from karma. But yeah, 2 pieces from AC for the monk runes and rest karma is what I did. And get the wvw daggers if you do that sorta thing. They’re only around 250 badges.

Just got mine last night (300 AC tears each) since I just hit 80 (yay). Now I’ve gotta actually explore Orr so I can access the temples for their karma gear.
