There should be a way to disable a key while in certain attunements because even after the change while i’m in water there is no reason I should ever cast shatter stone. (Okay maybe for cleave but forreal it hits so low that I may as well throw my trident at them)

There is. Don’t use the skill.

Shatterstone is not for direct damage and it is in fact quite useful. The cast time change has made it even better.

If you’re an S/F ele dude, you should really know this.

The skill should just be instant-cast. It is still useless, yes.

But there is ONE use for the skill in pvp: trying to tag thieves that died in shadow refuge so they can’t self-res. That is the ONLY use I have come across in the past year when I play s/x ele.

Dragon’s tooth is the skill that needs the treatment shatterstone got. 1s cast on something is purely for blasts/zoning/downed pressure is a bit long, imo.

He shouldn’t because the skill is still horrible. Like seriously if you hit anyone with this then they’re probably playing with 1 fps. Most of the time there’s no reason casting it because it just does nothing. It really has very few uses.

I really don’t understand the balance logic behind this skill.

Reduced the casting time by 22%. The overall time that the stone takes to shatter remains the same.

LOL

Anyone that is remotely competent can kittening walk out of this circle. I understand that skills like dragon’s tooth take some time to land, because it hits like a truck. Shatterstone, however, has a huge telegraph and hits like a wet noodle…….

I mean, the skill is bad but Scepter itself isn’t that great in PvP overall IMO.

Reducing the aftercast was a step in the right direction. Casting this skill on a downed body while you don’t have swaps to other attunements available is the best way to use this. The skill may suck, but no opponent wants to sit and get hit by it anyway. Think of it as cheap area denial.

Worst case scenario:
Your opponent moves away. For a cheap CD you made your opponent move.

Best case:
Opponent eats damage for cheap CD and possible proc of Fresh Air

Either way with the aftercast reduced you can move on to other skills quicker now.

the worst is when you do the phoenix-flash combo and it misses or doesn’t crit and you end up casting fire 2 instead of air 2.

Lol no. I should have written my reply was semi-serious, too. You’re right, it’s useless and if there wouldn’t be a way to cast this skill, it wouldn’t change much.

At least dragon’s tooth is a zone-tool and provides pressure for someone to stay away from that spot. In the odd case that it DOES land, its really substantial. Plus, not needing LOS is pretty strong, and its great downed pressure. DT may not be a great skill, but at least I don’t curse myself for casting it.

When shatterstone is accidentally cast sometime, you never even notice if it lands or not because nothing happens except you didn’t do anything worthwhile for the 0.6s it took the cast the skill.
