Sept Patch Notes on Ele
I though there was some talk that signet of earth got a cdr too though it was not in the patch notes and over all all the signet for a 1/2 cast time down from 3/4.
The big one i think is “Fire Magic Blinding Ashes: Applies blind to all foes struck when used with an area of effect burning skill.” How this works will make a new meta or just make the trait a bit more zerg friendly.

I like some of these changes.

Its a question of if the aoe is on the first tick only or if the cd is per person who you burned.
If its just on the first aoe (something that new to the game at leas that i know of) its not going to be all that great but still “ok” its just going to be a very high skill effect because any burn can set off the timer even the single target ones and then you got to wait 5 sec to land the aoe.
If its per person cd then it will become a powerful meta in it self at least in wvw. Things like fire walls or fire fields become blinds that hit nearly a full zerg on there own and the self def that ele pulls from this is very nice in that when they are in fire there a base 20% chase melee attks on them will burn the person attking you.
The new lighting rod and Elemental Contingency should have a nice effect to but i do not think they are as game changing as blinding ash if its the one way.
Lighting rod should give use to nado and ele aoe stuns / hard cc but there a lot of long lasting stab in the game (too much at least how long it last) so it will never hit every one but the ones you do hit will take 1k+ dmg and have a nice weekenss applied to them.
Elemental Contingency i think is going to be the in-between def / akk for mostly staff ele maybe scepter. It should give ele 100% up time for protection and nearly 100% up time for fury with a nice added vigor and retal. Its a question of can you live with out having removal of one condition the protection should make up and then some for the heal part (all the time -33% dmg when being attked vs 1.5k hp ever 10 sec at best.)

If you press the elite button again it will do it’s skill.
So instead of dying before it is doing anything (as it has been for 2 years in WvW, useless) you might be able to cast a stun with your air elite if you spam that key while dodging all over the place, blasting fields, casting waters, holding the teamspeak key and avoiding a 30 people blob melee train with the cantrips you won’t replace with the new signets or glymph no matter what they say.
Thankfully we have magnetic shield… that’s always useful… (as a sort of museum artifact display of how a MMO skill shouldn’t be balanced)

But for some of us that use Signet of earth, the additional bleed stacks is going to be painful.
As of that matter, any dnd eles run full signets? I think u will need LF as a matter of principle.
