Hey guys. some of you may know me, some of you may not but it doenst matter

long story short, people have been asking for my build for a long time. ive never shared it but since il be moving on to archeage, i figure why not?

now before i link it, there is one thing that you ahve to know about ele. its all about personal preference, i run high armor low hp because i like seeing my health bounce up and down, you might not. this build is not the perfect ele build its just what i ran after balancing and rebalancing multiple times.

for those of you who dont know me, ive been playing d/d ele for a super long time lol. im widely regarded as one of the best if not the best on the na servers. most of my time in gw2 has been spent in wvw and gvg with my guild Aggression. you can check out some of my dueling and lots of wvw and gvg action with this build on my youtube channel. over the past month ive been mainly doing spvp and dueling arenas making some new friends along the way. i really enjoyed gw2 for as long as it lasted but im pretty done with the game atm.

now i switched between a knight dagger and a zerker dagger depending on how i judged the fight, in wvw in gvg i almost always ran knights.

runes – hoelbrak – hoelbrak is just soo good, -60% condi duration is pretty ridculous. you dont notice how awesome it is till you try it. once again personal preference. just gotta be a bit more focused on might stacking..

sigils – battle energy for wvw always

NO CELESTIAL? – yes, no celestial. why? because i really dont like it and i really think its not necessary. in spvp, full celestial is dominant but in wvw you can min max your stats so well that full celest imo is pretty mediocre in comparison. trust bros, trust.

Utilties – changes from fight to fight and i never really used my elite for duels cuz yolo. but in wvw, if you are a human d/d ele then avatar melandru is legit god. and if you arnt human then reroll

30% crit chance? – tbh i kinda wanted a bit more but i learnt to live with it. i use to have 42 before the april patch but that changed a lot. 30 is honestly fine

other than the elite choice, this is a pretty cookie cutter build and hardly anything that warrants being kept secret.

wish archeage had a better UI and less horrible combat sound effects (characters go: “EEI! EYA! IYA! IEE!” nonstop to a steady rhythm in combat, sounds like an asian adult squid movie). Class system looks awesome but just cant get past those 2 issues. Being an asian mmo it will probably have some horrible gear grinds though so maybe im not missing much.

I was waiting for blade and soul to come to na but it seems it will never happen lol. I haven’t look up this new mmorpg but i keep hearing good rumors about it. How’s your experience in archeage Serane? did you play the beta? Most importantly is the sorcery profession extremely awesome mage class? :O

so far its pretty awesome heidia. im enjoying it a lot. the combat is a bit slower then gw2 but you have to look at it in a different light. the game is very complex and there is always lots to do. its f2p starting on the 16th so there is no reason not to try it out. as for sorcery, its a pretty good tree. the class system in archeage is pretty interesting and makes for some interesting combination. one for example is engimatist whichis shadowplay sorc and aurmancy which is similar to a d/d ele. i am playing daggerspell atm and pulling a no life weeked in head start :P

I started watching some videos and I must say I love the game sandbox style. It is f2p but there’s also a subcription membership option which undoubtedly provides more benefits. I wouldn’t mind paying a monthly subscription for this game. It looks like a whole lot of fun

I also started reading the official forum and it appears there’s a huge issue of land ownership and no restriction on land owned per player. The other issues can be expected on startup for any mmorpg. Hopefully there will be more servers on Sep 16 for the upcoming masses that will join, including me ^^.

Scholar, strength, traveler, divinity, privatter, pack etc. All the good runes will be expensive.. so gather some gold and invest in them.

You probably wont see this, but you might actually want to give the game a try. Reading about a game is not the same as playing the game. Certain aspects can completely overshadow or become a bigger deal than you would expect from reading about the game. this is especially true of AA, cuz the game sound nice but the combat and p2w cash shop.

Like for me blade and soul was a game I looked forward, it had all the great check boxes. Great action combat, great graphics and really really deep character customization. Unfortunately, all those nice things fell apart at level the moment I realize that after you hit cap all you really did everyday was farm instance and dailies (4 hours a day) to level up your weapon because that’s all you had. So sadly I had to walk away, but that’s just me.

I agree with you — never give into a hype. I admit I have never played the game but in preparation for it’s release tomorrow I have watched several hours of playthrough footage on both the pros and cons of the game and am completely satisfied with them. On top of that there is a large percentage of players from everywhere migrating to it which is evident from reddit and their very own forums.

I have a hunch that talking about other games is forbidden on these forums, so try checking out a youtube video! It got me addicted.

You mean seriously? Change from b2p friendly and competetive game for p2w with grindfest, where you have to pay for longer playing even with subscription (Archage)? I’ll try it but I think it won’t be anything worth bigger time.

Waiting for Everquest next tho.

Edit: Allright I’ve just seen that they undo some p2w changes in archage, so it can be more worth trying. Combat is somewhat weak side to me tho.

As for me, I might go back to console gaming with DA:I or try Skyforge. Skyforge “Seems” to have a lot of the things Iike, action combat fancy graphics and animation and a non tab targeted system like BnS (which I liked until the endgame).

I actually like this build quite a lot!It has a good burst and sustain capabilities!If we change lightning flash for sigil of fire we make up for crit chance if needed!(plus a small change in food and utility food)!Gonna do some tweaks dependin gthe situation!
All in all,a pretty well made build!
As for the Archage chat above,i think it is pretty dull..i didnt see anything that stands out much in the game!On the other hand,blade and soul seems kinda unique!Any news if it is released in EU?Gw2 raised the bar for combat mechanics for me!BnS is the only on i found to be close!

I was spending several hours trying to understand AA through reading & watching videos after reading the OP. AA is a total riot both in game & in the official forum. It will probably end up as a GvG game and it’s not for the light heart because everything is up for grabs, including hiring merc to raid other farms, killing anyone you don’t like etc.
I played it a bit last night and the queue is LOOONG.
Edited: And quite a few blob guilds in AA would be eaten alive by any decent GvG guild.

Your “build” is not new. It is build with common knowledge. But thank you for sharing.

Not with the same benefits. If money was a real issue i would just go AC and get those first. If i had no choice. Though they are quite useless.

Superior Rune of Antitoxin but i dont think its cheap.

It would have to be something very significant to get be back into gw2. Archeage is just crazy fun for me. Gw2 does a few things better though but not enough to get me back into it. I did all I wanted to in gw2 so I have nothing bringing me back.

i tried AA since many recommended it but the grindfest and the reeaaaally unsmooth combat drove me away instantly

other updates

back to playing gw2, been about a month and change since ive been back, i actually missed the game a lot and like most people told me when i quit for a bit, i missed playing ele a lot too. Agg is back playing as well, atm we are on fort aspenwood so if anyone is up for duels, message me in game. havnt gotten to duel in wvw for a while now.

mostly been getting my 1v1 fix in spvp now, zerk ammy duels can be quite fun and a different challenge all together. dueled phantaram recently, ended early at 2-2 (1 round took like 10 min lol) so im hoping to settle that at some point soon.

dd ele in the current wvw meta is harder to play. necros chew through you. it can be quite rough. hard hitting melee complimented with glass necros make every time you push in very risky. still trying to figure out the best way to play it in the current meta and if it even has a place. havnt really had a need to go back and update this build so if any of you have managed to theorycraft a build with this one as a template, id love to see.

anyways, feel free to whisper me in game if you have any specific questions about builds or ele. hopefully this helps those of you still looking for wvw ele builds.

Which Toughness nerf? Just tried, in wvw i get the Toughness, in PvE not… Why that? O.o

oh ya, no. that build is op as kitten. Its anti zerker, cause of all the toughness. But then again its awesome for ele cause when did right you get the power and crit damage of zerker but far more tankiness via toughness. then since you traited for old school fury aura you get an even 50% crit chance, which im sure you make good use of that boon not to mention the might stacking. Then hoelbrak & lemongrass? xD well done. In theory you can walk up to a zerg being DD and expect to just live, i could see how toughness would be in handy being frontline as DD opposed to say S/X and staff

Serane, what was your opinion of Archeage? I tried it briefly, but couldn’t make it out of the starting area… The old school collection/ kill 10 rats quests bored me.
