Shameless D/D streaming with METAL!!!
I only saw the video from the first boss fight, but was a good one.
Care to explain your traits and utilities to a new 80 Elementalist, that was so discouraged after his first AC exp (path 3) run, that i really think about stopping playing.
I run with a mix of Carrion and Knight exotics and staff ofc. Yet im so confused on what build i should START with, since the last time i got downed so many times. Hardly felt i benefitted the group.
I hope you will teach me abit. Thanks in advance!

I thought D/D’s would have a even harder time in PvE Explorable Dungeons ?

Group wanted to bug boss for easy kill; also allowed me to go use the bathroom.
Calling it tonight but might stream more terrible-ness tomorrow. Maybe I will even figure how to really make it work too!

I really like you streaming and i to am a fan of D/D ele and rock \m/
Anyways, i must ask you, why do you use Lightning Flash, Cleansing Fire and Mist Form? i’m not saying it is bad but with the high mobility of D/D i don’t like having 3 cantrips that have brake stun/remove condition. In my opinion Lightning Flash is good to have (Churning Earth + Lightning Flash, for mobs that run away) and maybe when your out of endurance to get out of a big dmg aoe but with only 1 skill you get all the 3 cantrips… Ether Renewal. I just love that heal skill i use it everywhere (PvE, WvW)

The main thing is for control; I want to be as highly mobile as possible. Reading the guide I mentioned above and after playtesting a bit this game isn’t all about high damage sustainability. But being able to react on the fly and adapt to every situation. What utilities would you suggest?

I tend to sub armor of earth for cleansing fire, as it’s pretty rare to need that many condition removals and stability is really hard to come by in many situations. 3 cantrips are good though, especially if you are still learning or in really dangerous situations.
If you want to sub in other utilities look at arcane wave for blast finishing (another heal, more might, etc) with some decent aoe damage. Really, anything works, lol, I’ve even had some fun and a modicum of success using lightning hammer and magnetic shield conjures. There are plenty of viable builds (maybe not optimal, but usable) and it’s easier to experiment with them once you get past the elementalist’s rather long learning curve.

I have toyed with arcane blast which is great fun. However I do get your idea of armor of earth. Normally I have so many Guardians I never have to worry about it. But even if you “master” dungeons having the ability to quickly break any stun and remove conditions is pretty nice considering it has such a short CD.
However Mist Form is evil… it doesn’t make me immune to spikes!!!

When i run D/D i like using Signets. Earth for a bit more sustain, water because i don’t like having debuffs on me (no one does) and plus i love to inflict chill on my enemies. For the last slot… depends. When i go world exploring (daily’s ect.) i use Air, but for dungeons i put Fire or Glyph of Elemental Power.
I’m still working on my mastery of the elementalist profession and i still need a LOT of work to do but i hope these tips help you in some way, maybe on how NOT to play ele xP

I am not to big into signets; if you watch my streams I kind of just rush forward and play very aggressive. Some people love it… some hate it… also after playing a frost mage in arena (the old WoW days) I love sustainability and control. I will have to make a link to my build soon. But gotta love the D/D! So much fun!
