Shocking Aura Nerfed?
I need to check this ingame, but it indeed was five seconds.
Got nerfed indeed to 4 seconds, seems there are some stealth nerfs this patch..

Soooo now it is four seconds instead of five. Boon duration from Zephyr’s Boon is been left untouched, though.
And whenever you use ride the lightning you seem to lose 3k hp (wut?)
Edit: The magnetic grasp + ring of fire bug is still there.
This needs to be fixed immediately! I too am losing 3k hp while in ride lightning. Will I down myself if I use it to escape a fight?

Crit rate goes down too. I guess you dont get the stats from traits while you’re using RTL. Not sure though.

Been testing it and if you’re low on hp it will reduce your hp by a smaller amount, like 200-300. Hard to accurately test with combat npcs.
In any case, you cant kill yourself with it. not sure if you can be downed while having lower hp and getting hit by someone else though.

So does this mean that all auras are now no longer affected by boon duration? As in auramancer just got nerfed?

Yes because, you know, every ele’s build that almost works is unintended.
I didn’t even know until now that auras were affected by boon duration. So it was a bug fix then.
It isn’t a boon anyway, so yeah a bug fix.
What the dev should be replying to is the RTL bug thread!

I can confirm this issue. I have mostly zerker gear, so my vitality comes entirely from my 30 points in water.
Normal HP: 14405 (1276 vitality)
RTL HP: 11405 (976 vitality)
Additionally, I have 20 points in air. Air bonuses are stripped, too.
Normal precision: 1871
RTL precision: 1671

Aura’s are aura’s. By definition they are not boons, so I am not upset about that, but I would be VERY upset if this affects the boons associated with popping aura’s!!!

Looking at my fraps of my recordings since i ran a build with 10 arcana, Shocking Aura is lasting 4.4 seconds so what you say is true.
Any fix on the Magnetic Grasp Leap Finisher fix anytime soon?

Do people even remember what year 1 of WoW was like? It was pretty cool to have pets start attacking their owners and mages unashamedly one-shotting everything in sight with no way to counter.
ANet is actually doing pretty well overall.

last night i was seeing that i use shocking aura while in RTL i did not get the boons from auras. that is likely an old issue though.
I heard something about RTL removing Trait bonuses when used, so you lose a ton of HP if you’re specced into Water…

I can confirm. Seems that anything that “transforms” your char. causes you to lose your traits until it ends. Same thing was happening with Mist Form, hence the bug with the reduced CD on Cantrips trait.
I assume this happens to all professions, not just Elementalists?
Quite a stupid bug, to be honest. How did they not notice that.

Also has anyone ever tried the trait arcane resurrection. The auras it gives are 10 seconds, but the shocking aura it gives currently scales with + boon. So if you have +50 boon duration you and the person you rez will get 15 seconds of shocking aura. This could be pretty useful if you rez a lot.

Yup, that’s exactly why. The on-transform trait removal bug is quite frustrating, I hope they hotfix it soon.
Nothing more to contribute to this thread than “OMG just when I thought things were looking better stuff like this happens to make things much worse…”
And in response the worn out statement “this game is still new, just wait a year” I’ll say this “Many of us beta tested the game for close to 6 months before release, so by extension the game is practically a year old already in our minds”.

I’m actually ok with it. Like was mentioned before, it’s only a 1 second difference PLUS now cannot be removed by boon removals. I think it’s fair.

I can confirm the RTL and Mist Form bug with losing vit and precision. I don’t know if you can get stunned or hit while casting RTL, but it does take a significant amount of stats.

on topic: well, it is not a boon, so it’s ok for it to be fixed. I use it a lot, will soon test if there is any difference in actual combat.
That’s next “bug fix” that nerfs elementalist, reducing Aura’s time and probably they also stop counting as boon for Water 25.
Anyway, skill was bugged so it’s alright it gets fixed but…
Why do they only fix bugs that are nerfing elementalist instead of fixing bugs that would make it better? Example grasping earth and RTL that is again bugged (woho, it worked for some weeks, that was great at least)

Yeah that’s terrible…especially considering that it just causes burning, which is only damage, and soooooo many classes can cause burning. Shocking aura is MUCH more powerful, lasts longer, AND has a shorter cooldown.

Thats pretty bad.. as in I might actually stop playing my elementalist for a bit until they fix it… could cause dangerous levels of frustration.
