Signet of Air
This is a very sensible suggestion.

Oh, this is how I thought it worked, kitten ..

Me too lol, that’s how I’ve been trying to use it.
Edit: I’m pretty sure this has to hit a target to even get the blind aoe. So if you miss (due to not having a target, dam thieves) the aoe won’t go off.

I prefer it how it is. Blinding a warrior when he’s winding up for killshot with a rifle is extremely satisfying.
Wait, it does not aoe blinds opponents around you? It’s weaker than I thought.

Stronger* if it were around the caster it’d be 100% useless with my staff + signets build unless I was going to go into Melee and beat them down with my staff, which I don’t plan on doing unless I need to.

How many builds can stun and burst you at range? Signet of Air’s active ability is there to counter those pesky warriors/ thieves/ mesmers/ etc that are disabling and wrecking your HP bar. A single target blind is rather weak for an utility, with the perhaps exception of pve, which is probably what you are talking about. Even so, an nearby aoe blind would be really useful even for pve ranged characters, for when you are dealing with a crowd and need a desperate self-defense skill.

I’m a PvPer, and it’s an AoE blind not a single target blind, and Mesmers, Thieves, Rangers, Guardians, Engineers, Necromancers, Elementalists, can all CC from range, idk if a warrior can or not, I’ve never seen them do it.

I was wondering whether i should respond to this but then i remembered i don’t really use my warrior in pvp lol.
Warriors can do range immobilise with longbow 1000 range (Pin Down) , a utility (Throw Bolas) does immob on 900 range, mace offhand has knockdown foes in line on 1200 range (Tremor) that was buffed in last patch for the projectile to move quicker. I’ve never seen one use mace offhand in pvp/wvw though. Warriors also have a 600range knockdown as a utility (Bull’s Charge) that’s quite common and a transformation elite (Rampage) has a 900 range knockdown but i’ve never seen any warrior use Rampage. Most of us don’t even remember what it looks like. I might be missing one btw.
As for the topic at hand, i’ve picked up signet of air in my 0/0/20/20/30 build. It’s serving me quite well. I mainly took it for the passive + stunbreaker on 30s CD tbh but I’ve been using it early in a fight for my own amusement saving MF for a stunbreaker until SoA comes back off CD.
I would prefer it to be on caster but then that’s my d/d bias as i tend to not target people unless i’m marking them. I’d support it staying the same for the sake of our ranged brethren.

I use it to protect me when I’m casting churning earth.
It would be a lot more useful as a clutch stunbreak if it did indeed do this. They should just make it default to pbaoe if you have no target selected.
