Signet of Air discussion
It’s worthless. You have perma-Swiftness anyway, there are many other far better skills.
As for the mobility traits being broken, they are also inferior to Swiftness.
MAYBE if you run a S/F build roaming in WvW it would be ok, but I’d still swap it out before a fight happens.

I only use signet of air as an underwater utility in WvW. It’s a nice blind if you need it, but it just takes up a utility slot if your build has access to perma swiftness.
Hmm…I wonder if signet of air would be more useful with another active effect like : 2s daze and increase the CD to 30.
What you guyt think? Would like to see the following version of signet of Air?:
- 30s CD, 25% speed increase as passive effect , 2s daze as active effect
(In general I’m trying to find an use for signets and signet of air is the only one with instant cast and thus useful)

No. There will not be a signet that has 2 passive abilities.
I run signet of air on my S/D signet build because of the lack of auras to give you full swiftness uptime. It’s inferior to perma-swiftness, but not by much. The real give up is the utility slot for the lackluster blind. If it were insta-cast it would be much better.

I run it in the water.

its usefull in WvW zergs just to keep up with the zerg, for me not being a lvl 80 yet im not realy going for a 1v1 fight anyway. and when attacking the gate of a tower i dont realy need a cantrip anyway.
I’m simply explaining why I’m right.

You can have perma-Swiftness even if you’re not 80. What level and spec are you?
Signet of Air is always bad when on land.

Nice in water if i haven´t run on land long enough to build above minute of swiftness.

just to confirm we are talking about this signet right ? xD
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Signet_of_airif so i dont know why it isnt good because i think its great! xD i do use it a lot for when i need it ^^
Blind is on too long cooldown and cast time to be much use in most scenarios, speed boost is redundant as any set except focus can achieve near permanent swiftness and incase you didn´t know, speed boosts don´t stack

I can see myself using it with a focus or staff build (if they were more useful). The instant cast ability is nice, compared to its slower brethren.
the only use i’ve found for this signet is for a “blind build” with s/d. Between air 3, earth 3, and the signet, you can pretty much always blind a mob before they attack. I’ve only used this for pve.
I quite like it when using it a slightly different d/d build in spvp. Running 0/0/30/20/20 with a zerker’s amulet so since I don’t have any air traits, it’s a good way for me to achieve “perma swiftness” using the earth grandmaster trait. It’s also a nice insta-blind for stomping without elemental surge.

I run a 0/0/30/10/30 s/d tank build and it is quite useful. Basically it works quite well if you don’t want to invest in 10 in air.

I find it only useful in a signet build, but only if you lack perma switness-otherwise there are a lot of much more useful utilities
Sig of air for the blind? (I think air is blind, been a while lol) use it to blind a downed guy using his kd, kb, fear or etc. However, this is instant and can be used during other skills, I would not trust it as I have seen it interrupt your skills as well, not sure if bug. Very frustrating.

You know, not everyone has full boon duration runes or Zephyr’s Boon. Some people spec for something more than OP d/d bunker.

5 sec mass blind is very powerful .. i think cd is fine.
Personaly haven´t found it that powerful because 1 attack wears it off. Then again i mostly play in situations where there´s bucketload of people or mobs constantly hitting you, so that would explain.

If you want to mass blind foes, use glyph of storms -_-
Its use shines more in smaller scale pvp since I’ve never had any problems with dodging regular mobs in pve.
There are some obviously telegraphed attacks like churning earth for example where you can just blind them near the end of the cast. You might get a lucky blind and completely negate the summon of a phantasm. For some slow CC heavy weapons like a warrior’s hammer, if you can predict or react fast enough, you can blind them just before it hits to avoid CC or help a teammate avoid it since it’s a 1200 range aoe instant cast. Often when you cast churning earth, an enemy player might try to CC since they might be out of or don’t want to use endurance. Blind and you can finish your cast avoiding both CC and damage and since they might not be expecting a blind will likely eat the damage.
etc. etc.
Glyph of storms isn’t exactly comparable due to a few things: cast time, activation time, longer cooldown, and requirement of being in earth attunement. It works better as a way to avoid damage during a fight whereas instant blinds can save you in a pinch.
All I can say…blind+25% speed increase=superb
Ok it depends on the way you play, but extra mobility really has improved my playstyle big times, just recently a build which I fought was unviable, has become ..great ^^
