It is weird that they would talk about a trait change in the general change slides while they have trait line change slides specifically dedicated to this. So, Soothing Mist will not have 300 radius but 600?

I still hate that most support abilities in this game require you to stand directly ontop of people.

The problem is that if you do trait for SM, you’ll lose on the condi removal, which is huge. There is no other way to get condi removal (aside from evasive arcana and its radius isn’t that great either) than taking staff, fire traits or cleansing fire. I don’t know, imo eles needed bigger radius on heals since most of them are just ridiculously small, which doesn’t really help. I don’t think this nerf is justified, I mean they are nerfing it because they added some OP trait not all eles will use? Makes no sense to me.

I agree 100%, but there’s still a percentage of eles that like to have a raw healing power build for pretty green numbers I guess. Despite how it’s a second rate idea/build, we have to think about it as something ‘viable’. In that way, it seems like the sacrifice/gain is out of whack. 1200 range on soothing mist with this new trait may have been something to consider, but a 300 range version seems to only shoot itself in the foot.

I agree with the fact some eles would like to play this way. However, not all eles should be forced to do so. I think it’s already stupid you have damage modifiers in water and then you’re stuck with Aquatic benevolence that does completely nothing to you if you’re zerker.

I think Soothing Power should restore the range to 600 again. You’d need a GM for the old range and it’s an incredible buff to the effect, worthy of the GM slot.

With the removal of Lingering Elements, it wouldn’t be OP since the effect would end immediately on swap.

It’s competing with Cleansing Water and Powerful Aura, yet with a range of 300, you’re thinking this would be even a remotely reasonable choice to a melee range ele spec?

That trait would be otherwise perfect for a support staff or scepter ele. Melee ele isn’t going to pick up Soothing Power over Cleansing Water or Powerful Aura.

But maybe it’s really good in action? We’ll see. On paper, it seems meh.

i think it will have most use in pvp where you fight on point with allies. Being able to sustain allies with a 300-400 a second healing on top of regen is pretty good. The main issue is no more lingering elements and staying in water isn;t best practice.

With celestial Soothing mist now tick 117 per sec. So with Soothing power that will be 351 per sec or 3510 heal if you leave water immediately. It is not bad, but is it worth to choose over Cleansing water, especially when there will be probably more condi builds after patch.

If you’re teaming up with a shoutbow, you might consider giving up cleansing water since the warrior could make up for the little loss of cleanse.

Both those class have more than decent damage, and if you mix their support, its pretty insane. I think this duo can face tank 2V3 maybe 2V4 at mid point while maybe beeing able to get a kill (or at least a down)

Tempest seems made careful not to make ele better in any way, since that would be bad

It does the job well :-)

Can someone explain to me how the people on balance team are not kittening sure what the radius is when the patch goes live next week? Please, actually learn your game.

At this point, I don’t know what to believe.

Did they fix the water auto on staff?It used to not heal if it didnt hit anything and then it suddenly got to heal as long as it landed near you..Thats what 600+heal with hp every second?put regen in and this new trait and there you have it..A healer

Hey in advance..im not talking about viability cause thats relative to everything else or fun in playing (im assuimng you dont stay in water when you can use earth to peel or fight to add damage etc).Just saying those numbers are pretty high sustain and u got the spike heal as well.

It lingers anyway. It goes from 9ish to 7 sec and refreshes when you are in water.Without lingering elements it just goes from 9..7 to 0 after you leave water.With the trait it still refreshes at least once in those 5 sec it “lingers”
So in other words if it isnt changed in base functionality you can have it up all the time if you stay only about 10 sec or so out of water.That is if it isnt changed

I’m glad it’s only down to 600 though, 300 would be virtually unusable.

So Soothing Power is live now. 600 radius. Lowest tick is 170 (twice what is normal, not 3 times like we hoped). 1200 healing power (cleric amulet in PvP) ticks are 400. Also confirmed soothing mists lasts 7-9 seconds after leaving water, allowing 100% uptime if you religiously go back into water.

Meh.

Edit: 15% bonus for alies is 460.
