Speedy Conduit is one of the very few minor elite spec traits left that does nothing but buff the elite spec’s new mechanic (the other being the warrior minor traits that do nothing but buff their new F2 skill).
Until now every ele spec had PLENTY of swiftness simply by either having arcane spec or air. But now that most Tempests are running water+earth (because it’s really the only viable combination) you have ZERO swiftness.
So like the chronomancer minor skill, Speedy Conduit should give 25% passive movement speed in addition to the swiftness on overloads.
I prefer a swiftness enhancement of 7%, like Hardy conduit does with protection.
I suggested this multiple times. Would help me not to permanently swap air signet ….

Nope. I hate passive movement boosts that cost nothing to take. With as powerful as speed boosts are, no one should get them for free while others have to slot skills or major traits for them (or they should give everyone them for free and make it baseline). Chronomancer’s minor trait movement speed buff is bad enough as it is, but at least they have somewhat of an excuse in the fact that Mesmer has always been really limited in movement speed boosts.
Ele has plenty of movement speed options. Absolutely no reason add a passive move boost. Signet of Air. Boon Duration + speed conduit. Basically anything in the Air traitline. Blast finishers in lightning fields (and conveniently we now have a lightning field with any weapon set via Overload Air). Horn #4 and Staff #4. Elemental Attunement.

Or give us Superspeed.
Honestly I’d take the 25% baseline movespeed over anything. It is just so useful.
We have Zephyr’s Speed, let’s not forget about it. With the bug fix on Speedy Conduit, it’s not so bad at the moment.
Superspeed during the Overload sounds useful. Remove the swiftness from it though

Too much super speed is not good.

But you could go Sanic speed. lol. Obviously adding superspeed to overload would replace the swiftness. Though honestly I prefer generally useful traits rather than traits that only are useful during overloads. That is why hardy conduit is now good ish, 40% dmg reduction on protection vs 33 is nice.
I’d rather swap the Speedy Conduit with the Stability on Overload trait.

We just got the bug fix of 8 seconds of swiftness from 5. So you can actually press an overload button and you get 8 seconds of swiftness regardless if you intend to cancel it or not.
the answer is boon duration, eles.
Well its swiftness ….. For running around its usability is kitten. Most eles have tons of swiftness annyway. Its in combat mobility for non air(arcane) tempests.
