Staff Build -
I think this looks good. I prefer earth signet over armor of earth for the passive effect of having increased toughness and the control of the 4 second stun. You get to lay a lava font, stun, use your burning staff skill 3, and instead of glyph of storms I use arcane wave as a blast finisher while the lava font is still down. Hit 4 and burning retreat away and they burn in a fire field while you projectile fire ball them while they walk to you.

Not a bad idea, thanks for that suggestion, although in PvE I think Armor of Earth might be better, but for WvW Signet is not a bad choise either, at least until I get in a Zerg, (not that I like Zergs all that much but I don’t see how can staff work for roaming solo since the attack speed is kinda low)
Arcane Wave is problably a better choise over the glyph yeah, I’ll switch that
Your trait’s are exactly the same as mine, except i got 10 in earth instead of fire. In PvE i use stone splinters (in wvw i find armor of earth trait nice). Sure as staff you got 1200 range, but i often find myself in melee range anyway. Plus point of this trait is, it works during any attunement, while fire 10% increase of dmg only works during the fire attunement.
Arcane wave is a must have for staff ele’s in both WvW and PvE. It’s basically your only blast finisher besides eruption which need to be timed and evasive arcana during earth attunement which you dont have traited. So i agree to replace glyph storms with arcane wave. It’s not just useful on lava font’s, but also on water fields, in case you need more healing.
As for earth signet and armor of earth. I’d pick armor of earth any day over signet of earth. Two reasons: Stability and protection. A smart staff ele tries to position him/her self well enough so it won’t take much/any damage. Of course you will get into difficult positions, or situations in which you need stability while having to cast a water field for example. That’s why I think you’ll have more use for armor of earth over signet of earth.
The gem stones in your armor, i would replace them with traveler runes.
Hum Traveler because of the 25% movement speed? Since I need to mantain range would be nice to run faster than most characters. The thing is beside that, and the boon duration, IMO the rest of the bonuses off the Runes aren’t that great. But I will note the suggestion and maybe try them even before the gems.
Well them I will follow this build, thanks for the suggestions, any more suggestions anyone wanna make are welcome
Well, i’d rather glass cannon for Pve, coz is more effective. Look this staff build, it can achieve Lightning Hammer DPS: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/85568-lh-is-the-new-bearbow-the-real-staff-dps-build-for-manly-men/
I don’t like Glass Cannon builds, but thanks for the suggestion
Okay I almost have the buidl how it is, still miss the exotic backpack, using Soldier in the meanwhile
So far so good, haven’t played a whole lot of Elementalist yet but I’m liking what I’ve done so far
Thanks for the susggestions guys

The bonus from Traveler does not stack with swiftness. Seeing as you have Glyph of Elemental Harmony, Elemental Attunement and Windborne Speed, you’ll pretty mnuch have permanent swiftness anyway. So taking Traveler runes for the speed boost would be a bit of a waste in your build.
Also, if you like boon duration that much, have you considered taking 2 Monk/ 2 Water/ 2 Traveler? That would give you +45% extra boon duration.
