probably because you are adding food, or the weapons you are putting arent all of the same rarity.
As for WvW, I run with a complete zerker gear in zergs and barely ever get downed, so it is possible. If want you want is to optimize damage then full zerker is your best bet. You will most likely die in smaller encounter, that is on 5 or less, but you can still pull it off if somehow they dont look at you funny.
I run 30/20/0/0/20 for the most part, with focus on fire field giving fury, elemental attunement, staff blast, 20% more damage on >33% hp, 10% more damage on fire, 10% crit damage on arcane (usually equip one or two with the recently added healing skill arcane blast finisher for water/fire field).
Basically your job is to stay in the back, kill enemies, and give might/fury/reg/heals/CC.

My friend has a great build that is half valk half zerk. He sits at fifty percent crit chance with like 17k vitality. Its funny when our guild (VR from mag) runs all dps eles

Ya I really do like zerk. It’s a lot of fun If im zerging or playing in towers / keeps, then I am full zerker for sure. No reason not to be. When I run with my guild though, and it’s 20 of us vs double or triple our numbers, I find I could use a bit of survivability. If we do things like push through a zerg, I find that things can get hairy if my cantrips are down.
Anything else people are running that is successful?
