Staff vs S/D
i’m by no means a theory crafter or number cruncher but from what I can tell d/d s/d and staff are designed perfectly to match a playstyle.
staff does less burst but greater range and therefore less survivability spells and more push backs.
d/d high burst more survivability spells and greater mobility.
s/d is the middle ground middle range, less mobility that d/d but more sustained damage (less burst).
its really up to your play style, you want to blow people up then go d/d but learn to get out of trouble quickly. If you want to kite them with less burst go staff. its all about sacrificing one for the other.
im talking about static single target dps, for example dwayna. you just stand there and dps. what would do better?
Static single target over a period of 20sec with 0% crit and 0% chance to crit we found Fire in DnD and staff to be the highest with snf offering the least in all 4 lines
