This is a VERY tanky high damage high survivability build, please use wisely, may get your class nerfed.

Getting over *2100*+ Condition damage, with 25 stacks of confusion (Pretty Easy + AOE) each time your enemies attack that interrupt themselves and hurt themselves for 5165, you use your hammer and shield to create dazes and such and constantly interrupt/daze your foes while killing them with confusion/fire/bleeding damage/poison.

Strengths
1. Very good AOE Damage.
2. Very Tanky.
3. Can destroy Zergs with many.

Cons
1. Expensive.
2. Expensive.
3. Expensive.

How does it work?
You constantly lay down Lightning Fields and Combo Field: Lightnings to interrupt and stun your foes, pretty straight forward!

You can also use Shocking Aura, so every 2 seconds they hit you they get 3 stacks of confusion and kill themselves.

This is nearly the same build I’ve been running in wvw, except I go 0/0/20/20/30 for extra heal on water. Good for 1v1s and small groups but half of that is just because nobody knows how to deal with focus since hardly any eles use it. It’s not great for zergs imo since the conditions often don’t do enough to get you kill credit. I take armor of earth and arcane shield over mist form (worst of the three imo since you can’t ether renew during it) and earth shield, although I can see swapping arcane shield for earth shield for more offensive capability and confusion stacking in zergs. I also usually reserve LH for escaping and mobility, but if I feel safe enough I’ll use it for the daze and launch. I’ll have to wait to see what they do to perplexity before committing any ascended gear to the build, since that’s where at least a quarter of the damage comes from.

Oh and as a human I use reaper of grenth for free poison + chill. Could also use fgs for more mobility, but I find it less reliable than LH in that regard since it is not always off cooldown.

But yeah perplexity will probably get royally nerfed… so this build will be good at attrition but nowhere near as damaging.

Yes, but the thing is. Even if you don’t get as much kill credit. Imagine 5 of these guys coming into a zerg and just AOEing the static fields into it. Its devastating.

Can dire stuff be crafted? I looked up on the TP and only saw Jatoro’s armor or crafted dire weapons, no trinkets.

Any chance to post a vid of some fighting with this spec. Was checking it out a bit, only seemed to work for me once where I got enough confusion on my target.

Granted I played a bit clunky trying to get some kind of feel for this. Sounds really interesting.

I don’t think it can yet. I lucked out by stocking up on a set of jatoro’s before the update. When they release ascended armor (sometime this year) you will be able to.

Upon further research it looks like dire trinkets come from dungeon recipes so full dire is possible(albeit pricey @ nearly 100g for everything exotic, though completely buyable) except for the back armor and jewels.

Since ele don’t really have any decent “on crit” condition traits would you suggest chrysocola jewels? Or would a mix of coral be better?

Hey just found this thread after a google search, I’ve been doing some theory crafting and came up with something very close. Less tank but should have better damage output.

14k hp, no cantrips, almost no heal (no 15 point water trait and evasive arcana) seems like a failbuild to me. Thats like begging to get backstabbed. Also remember that you need to actually interrupt an enemy to get the confusion stacks. And this build does not really offer much to interrupt on purpose. If the enemy can resist the urge to attack during the 4 seconds of shocking aura there is not really much you can do to interrupt. Gale or one possible interrupt on a utility with a 60 seconds cooldown is not going to cut it in my opinion.

A warrior can do this job so much better – more hp and armor, distracting strikes trait to get even more confusion, more interrupting skills, 50% critical trait when enemy is stunned, 20% damage when stunned… well you get the message.

Both conjure weps have interrupts, water 5 is an interrupt, air ele interrupts or tornado throw rocks interrupts. I get how perplexity works I use P/P perplexity thief. As I said, just a theory craft, calm your kittens.
