Static Field + Arcane Blast = 35sec. Swiftness??
Blast finishers in lightning fields give 10s of swiftness. You probably saw a video from the beta when it used to give 30s, or you saw someone hitting multiple blast finishers in the same field.
Step 1) Earth-2
Step 2) Air-5 on top of Earth-2
Step 3) Arcane Wave on top of Air-5
Whenever) Air-4
Wow… really? I’m starting to appreciate all the lamenting comments about Ele’s being “complicated”… 0.o
And yes, the video was from one of the betas I believe. So all that for only 10 sec. of Swiftness, or do they stack? Either way, it’s a lot of work just to be able to run around a bit faster…
They stack in duration.
10s is the base amount for swiftness.
The Arcane Tree increases boon duration by 1% per point.
If you want an easier method of doing it, get a thief to spam cluster bomb in your field.
BTW, that combo works with any field.
Lava font = Fire field → 6 stacks of might.
Geyser/Healing Rain = Water Field → Double AoE Heal
Frozen Ground = Ice Field → AoE Frost Aura (Pretty sure this doesn’t stack, so there’s no reason to do two blast finishers.)
Throw in Evasive Arcana for some real fun! Two more blast finishers as long as you stance dance!

1)Trait quick glyphs.
2)Trait Inscription.
3)Use Glyph of Elemental Harmony in Air
4) use any other swiftness granting skill (gust, updraft, any other glyph in air)
5) Repeat 3 and 4
Infinite swiftness. (For perma swiftness only the traits and glyph are necessary)
I’ve had 2+ mins of swiftness on me and I could keep stacking it infinitely, much more simple. Then you can use your combo fields and blast finishers for other things.

Permanent swiftness can be achieved by just staying in air attunement using staff without any traits.

2) Arcane Blast + Static Field
3) Healing in air attunement gives you swiftness
I usually equip the trait One With Air which gives you 25% more moving speed while you stay in air attunement. You can see how fast ele can run.
Gumiku, that’s kind of worthless. Speed boosts do not stack at all. Only the highest one applies.
Swiftness stacks duration and that staff combo does work, although you’re correct in saying only the highest % amount is applied however One With Air far from useless, rather say it’s situational Auhfel.

One with air is very, very situational with staff— out of combat you can have permenant swiftness easily, in combat you probably won’t be in air attunement enough to really benefit from it.
I usually get around 40 sec of swiftness using Tyrfang’s combo with 30 points into arcana
(including the elemental attunement trait for an extra swiftness buff when you enter air attunement), around 52 sec if you add in glyph of elemental harmony as your heal.
A 40 sec of AoE swiftness is also good for escorting dynamic event NPC’s in PvE & Dolyaks in WvW. If you switch attunements often, it basically means perma-AoE-swiftness.
I also have to try DreadShinobi’s way of stacking swiftness sometime, though I don’t really have 20 points to spare for Air magic in my current condition/support build.

Unless it was fixed [One with Air] only gives you a benefit after you have been at least 30 seconds attuned to air; that’s because after 10 and 20 seconds you get 5% respectively 10% which doesn’t surpass the 10% from [Zephyr’s Speed] so it’s ignored.
