Suggestion: remove Magnetic Wave
Magnetic Aura is already in staff, it would be weird to have the same skill in 2 different weapons. So yeah, your latter proposition is preferred. But on the other hand, Magnetic Wave is already a really strong skill. Would an actual MA make it too strong?

I like it exact the way it is. … Its my most loved skill and while i would trade obsidian flesh for somethign offensive i don´t want to change the wave. Also please not more synergies with water traits ….
buffing the meta pvp build is a terrible idea
and turning magnetic wave into magnetic aura is also a bad idea as it’s a buff to aura share (which is already dominant) and a nerf to everything else
Let’s just slap to the face of staff once again. Check your privileges, focus-using eles.
Please, you have a lot of auras, dont ask about change the best skill elementalist has.

Then again, I’m bias because I want aura heal-o-mancer nerfed HARD. Would like to see more power / burst ele viability in the next meta. things like the fire and arcane traitline need more work than anything in earth/water at the moment.
nerf ele after it was scrapped and spit out as auramancer healbot is a nogo. Ele is currently the best support keeping others alive but otherwise in totaly bed spot. It looks like anet wanted to make ele support ….. A non auramancer would need a skill like wave while an aurmancer would just go with magnetic aura and heal+support more then before. A classic nerf non aurahealbots… If you want to nerf ele then the water synergies must be cut a bit and arcane and fire line buffed for more agressive playsyles. Also offhand dagger might needa bit like lower cd on RTL … Not to mention scepter. Magnetic wave is the last skill to be touched…. Shure its a realy good one. If you want to nerf focus do something like swap obsidian flesh with WH earth 5 … Unfortunately that doesn´t fit the weapon theme well.

I just wish other trait lines had options for healing.
Here is what I would do to fire to promote a condi type of build.
Burning precision no longer has cd. Lower burn duration increase by 5%
One with fire now grants 3 stacks of might every time you are affected by an aura.
Persisting flames now removes 2 conditions every 3s as long as you are standing in a fire field.
For arcane I would probably do something like this.
Arcane precision has no cooldown. Lower weakness duration to 1s.
Increase the health threshold for final shielding to 50%.
Lower the cooldown of elemental contingency to 5s
Elemental surge instead heals you for 50% of the damage done by an arcane attack (including hitting more than one enemy) and lowers the cd of arcane skills by 20%
If using arcane power, the next five attacks will heal you for 50% of their damage.
Bountiful power buffs attack by 3% for each boon on you.
Bad Elementalist
Yes. This buffs are about what i also think. I would have lowerden the ICD to 3s but kept the 20% and alos lower blinding ashes ICD to 6s. One with fire 3 stacks and 50% fire aura duration. But 3 might on all auras also helps to make it an agressive alternative for aurasupport.

I didn’t want the skill to simply become like the staff’s Magnetic Aura. I only wanted the reflecting effect to be accomplish by a real aura. All other effects (blast finisher, damage etc.) should stay. But no one seems to like auras nowadays. :-(
this would be a buff to auramancer and is not what most eles want. We want build diversity.. Viable staff eles, D/D S/WH and so on … Not only a healbot that does pitiful damage. When thinking of an elementalist elements are asociated … Like fire burning down whole cities in a firestorm …. Or earthquakes crumbling mountains …
