Sustained Speed ....Burst Speed
Elementalists can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds, 0 to100 miles per hour then back to 0 in 9 seconds, and 0 to 200 miles per hour then back to 0 in 27 seconds. Top speed is 233 miles per hour, torque 1,500 Nm.
Everyone needs a little optimism!
The most you’ll get is the 33% increase in movement speed given by the swiftness boon. How you get there (traits vs. staff air skill 4, etc.) is up to you but you can never go above this. Best you can do is extend its duration.
So 33% Staff Air #4 for 10 seconds. During 14 second recharge time you have 25% from One With Air (which doesn’t stack with Zephyrs Speed)
Correct ?
Edit: Arcane 9 Windborne Dagger +15% speed. Does it stack with zephyrs speed +10% ?

That is correct (though whether you’ll actually notice the difference between 25% and 33% is up to you). It’s been awhile but last I knew I thought One with Air was bugged and wasn’t working correctly though I could be wrong. I usually just roll perma-swiftness by using staff 4 and then glyph of elemental harmony in air attunement (roughly 4-5 seconds won’t be covered unless you have some + boon duration). Alternatively, you can lay down static field after staff 4 and use Arcane Wave to blast finish which gives area swiftness and will give you the permanent 33% uptime.
No speed bonuses stack. You will only want to take zephyr’s boon so you can get permanent swiftness…you don’t need any other speed bonus. The rest of you speed comes from mobility abilities like RTL, burning speed, and lightning flash.

None of the Elementalists speed bonuses work. But it’s pretty easy to keep up permanent Swiftness with Elementalist. Mixing that with RTL and Burning Speed and you got yourself the fastest moving proff in the game.
Glyph of elemental harmony, 20 air. Quick glyphs + Inscription.
20 second swiftness, 20 second cooldown. Sure, you have to invest in it, but inscription is pretty great. It can be 20 seconds of regen, 6 seconds of preoction, or 2 stacks of might fo 20 seconds as well.
You can use Rune of Speed to gain an additional +7% speed when having swiftness.

One with air seems to be working fine for me. I often have to stop and wait for people who are not keeping swiftness up and get slightly outrun by people with swiftness.
we may consider whether or not there is an incarnation of [ele] that would be viable

Sorry man, but Windborne dagger doesn´t work at all, unlike so many other traits/skills on Ele, which are “just” broken…

The dumb thing about windborne dagger is that, even if it worked, it would be a pointless trait. If you have 10 points in air (and most do)…you probably have Zephyr’s boon which means perma-swiftness. Speed increases normally do not stack, which renders windborne dagger POINTLESS.
They should just scrap the trait and replace it with something useful. And if their intent is to make dagger Ele’s move faster…then make the speed bonus from windborne dagger stack with swiftness.
Oh, and the scepter trait in arcane is equally stupid. Why would I take a 25% endurance regen that you HAVE to be wielding scepter to benefit from over Renewing Stamina which grants essentially perma-vigor that is a 100% endurance regen???? Both master arcana traits…

From what I’ve read, this is currently bugged and the 6th rune benefit doesn’t actually improve swiftness’ speed:
