[Talk] Dragon's tooth/Tidal Surge/Dust Devil
Quick reply: I’m not a scepter guy but in general…
Dragon Tooth – Cast time needs to be 1/2 sec and time before drop needs to be 1-1.5 sec with a 1/2sec landing time. Generally takes too long
Dust Devil – some blind maybe?
Generally I think scepter needs to be a more condi focused weapon for ele. One that puts out decent power damage but the condi is more. Things that would be good would be weakness. Not sure about torment but in general ele would need more condis to be a good condi class and I think scepter is possible for it (though sadly you would lose some burst due to the nature of condi).
Just add more blinds (to earth) and possibly more condis.
Tidal Surge – Unfortunately this skill is already really good, it does twice as much healing as offhand Dagger 5 without the condi clear and does CC on a lower cooldown. I do think the animation is a bit slow but…in all honesty I’m wary of any unneeded buffs as they likely will get the class double nerfed. One step forward two steps back you know?
As senario DT needs lower casting time. Maybe even 1/4. This allows for some fire and forget usage causing area denial/cleave. It will still be avoided by good players, but a low casting time makes it a good tactial spell.
Dust devil. I´s a soso spell. I would make it instant cast, causing it to be a good close up defence. Also 10s (or 12) base CD to compensate the CD nerf. Currently this one is just there but doesn´t do much.
Scepter is a clear hybrid weapon. Earth is quite bleed focused with low power damage. Fire does power + burn and air power. This causes the scepter to loose effectiviness if you put on power or condi gear. I personaly like it as hybrid and maybe viper ele will be playable….
Very intresting thing would be 3s slow on dust devil instad of blind :-)
At least we all agree on DT being way too slow and about TS, yeah I know the skill is in a good spot so expecting some quality of life changes would be..too naive
I would say reduced cast time on a lot of skills will make scepter feel more fluid.
Scepter and Warhorn both suffer from incredibly clunky skills. Staff too, when it comes to a few skills. With how fast-paced combat is nowadays, it really makes it difficult to consider using those weapons in PvP. Even Scepter is only really viable with Fresh Air, which does most of its damage via instant-cast attacks and procs.
List of clunky skills IMO:
Scepter: Flamestrike (slow), Dragon’s Tooth (slow), Ice Shards (slow), SHATTERSTONE! (lol), Arc Lightning (channel too long, damage too low), Stone Shards (slow), Dust Devil (slow)
Warhorn: Wildfire (slow to spread out), Tidal Surge (slow to CC), Cyclone (slow), Dust Storm (slow to spread out)
Staff: Water Blast, Ice Spike (slow), Gust (slow), Shockwave (slow), Stoning (too high arc)
Dragon tooth aint only slow, its like world has stoped and everyone turns into NEO or agent smith while only you staying a usuall dude in matrix.4s for such undewhelming ability is unbelievable. Its like spit in face when whole fire atunement has only one useable ability!!
It doesnt work as cleave on downed aswell, cause in that time you usually res the downed!!And even if it hits, its wot dmg?It wouldnt be even good for ambient daily for killing chickens in BLs.
they need to fix the awful warhorn clipping too, sometimes the skills don’t activate, but you still get the cooldowns.
