Tempest Overloads
100% agree. But the main problem I see at the moment is that Overload goes into a 5 second cooldown when you switch to the attunement. Not sure if this is intentional or not but it is really clunky.
It is intentional, the point is you are ‘charging it up’ for 5 seconds.
Besides that, you cannot dodge, you cannot cast any other spells, and I’m not even convinced that the damage output is higher than what you could’ve done without overloading. I agree that it is high risk, low reward. It doesn’t make any sense.
I think they should work more like Revenant upkeep skills but without the energy, in their current state
I started a thread on this not too long ago: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/elementalist/Overloads-An-Analaysis-and-Suggested-Changes/first#post5340289
The overloads are literally a waste of time: you’re almost always better off going through your normal rotations than taking 5 seconds out to channel an overload. The only exception is that, theoretically, the fire overload might be worth it if you manage to use it on a fire field while standing inside someone’kitten box (to stack crazy burns via the whirl finisher).
overloads are terribad…..no reason to EVER use them.
pls increase numbers to make the “risk” worth it.
