If you take Tempest. Its function is to make each attunement overload. So by choosing it, its kind of an unspoken idea that you plan to USE it with modest frequency. Its a little silly though. You voluntarily lock yourself into an attunement to gain singularity, then use it, and lock yourself OUT of that attunement.

So lets guess here a little. Lets forget the channel time. Lets just presume for a moment that once you lock yourself out of an attunement the recharge is 15 seconds. Flat. In that time you could go through the other three attunements maintaining the ele average dps (assuming of course you are a cantrip ele with the meta build). Or you can overload, and forgo using any skills from any other attunement and lose what? roughly 60% of the ele’s overall dps? Then what? You spam your other attunements to try and make up the dps you just lost/wasted by camping an attunement to use a crap skill for a crap elite spec?

So, let me get this straight our new “Elite” specialization is so amazing that its worth camping long enough to pretty much ruin your dps output for? I don’t think so. I can’t even figure out who thought this would be a good idea. The concept for this spec is crap, the design is self defeating, and the ONLY function that this dung heap appears to serve is to replace fire’s embrace.

I hate war horns. They don’t interest me in the slightest. Sadly the war horn appears to be the GOOD part of this “elite” spec. I had assumed that no elite spec could possibly be worse than the dragon hunter. I was wrong.

I agree with you 100% and warhorn seems more like a wvw escape for lower level skil factor it’s not better in spvp. Those tells will get us killed. If there is a trait not to give us protection but also stability for 2.5 -3 seconds 2 stacks. that seems better but the overload is too slow and during that channel time you can as you state above do double or triple damage in a ele rotation. I wish over load functions the way like engi f5 skill or other profs:

In fire 3 stacks of might to self and allies + 300 radius AOE blind field at your location that pulse ever second for 5 seconds to enemies.

For air you get quickness and super speed for self and allies 3 seconds + a AOE at your location, lightning storm 400 range radius which applies 1 second stun. Humor us you don’t have to make the dps high!

For water you heal (a small amount) /remove one condition from allies applies 3-4 second chill at you location to enemies 300 radius at your location.

Earth you apply 1 stack of stability to allies for 5 seconds and AOE launch enemies in 300 range radius 200 or 300 ranger hits 5 targets at your location.

Channeling gets ele killed in spvp haha I dont’ want a death flag so give us a quick spike applications and use nice animations too.
