Teaser for Tempest is out and everyone talks about warhorn but
did someone noticed that lightning disk over Tempests shoulder?

I think it looks great.

What do you think about it?
Do you think it will change with attunement swapping?

I saw the disc, but what I’m really curious about is what she’s holding in her right hand.

Looks like a dagger.

And ya, she’s holding a Water-themed focus along with new Air-Shoulders, which looks really cool.
Rest of her armor pieces is from Human Light Pier 3 armor.

You may not have noticed the many many posts about the warhorn she is holding. I can see why you could mistake it for a focus, but it is clearly the warhorn that was datamined. Also, Ele’s already have a focus and the teaser pics have thus far showcased the new Elite spec weapons.

She’s not holding anything in her right hand, it’s just her hand.
Her thumb is really hard to see under all that lightning.

I don’t see anything in her right hand, just a storm she is calling down.

Those are her fingers, with lightning coming down to them from above her head, she’s not holding anything in her right hand.

I dunno…but that definitely doesn’t look natural…maybe she’s double jointed at the wrist…it does look like her hand though…but that is a weird angle to be bale to get your wrist into if you actually try it…:)

It’s just stylistically illustrated. It’s reminiscent to me of late-90’s style comic book artwork, where 85% of the poses were unrealistic and impossible to achieve IRL.

P.S. The illustration is definitely giving me some Ororo Monroe realness, for sure.

I’m not entirely convinced its armor and not part of the Tempests’ visual style, honestly. It looks like there’s already shoulder armor on the character, plus the way the lightning from above actually goes into it… I dunno, maybe its something related to the way Tempest casts their spells or something. It sort of reminds me of the elemental rings that appear around your arms based on attunement on a normal Ele, but in a different location. And said rings on the arms are conspicuously absent, so maybe the shoulder ring replaces the arm ones to visually separate Tempests from normal Eles?

But if it is armor (or a backpiece, perhaps), its pretty interesting. Could definitely see myself using it. Having it change on attune swap would be amazing, but I kind of doubt that would be possible in the game engine.

The armor would look nice with my new reaper NOT tempest.

To me it looks like she has second disk under her right arm in the place where lightning comes out.

I second that. It´s her hand pointing fingers upward.

Are people really having a hard time seeing that the right hand is just a bare hand pointed upward? There’s no dagger or anything weird, it’s just her hand… O.o How are you not seeing that, the fingers are even defined decently well….

Also hands are something we humans are familiar with since a long time. Dramatic ones like the Tempest one aren’t so common, but still they are hands with fingers and all the usual layout.

Those are never her fingers. First of all I can clearly see a fist / grabbing hand in the picture (right below the marked part) and secondly her fingers would be as long as her forearm and really weirdly twisted.

They are her fingers. It’s a terribly unrealistic hand pose, but compare the color to the left hand, as well as the length of the fingers on each hand. It might need more foreshortening, and perhaps if the hair weren’t blowing to conceal the heel of the palm it would be more obvious.

Normally I qualify such things with an “in my opinion” but I am utterly certain that is a hand with the thumb pointing horizontally over the skull and the fingers pointing up with the forefinger bent further back than the others. The palm is pointed over the skull as well.

This is essentially what you’re looking at. Her hand is above her head and she, like is often depicted in fantasy, is casting using a weird twisted hand gesture. I attached an image of my own hand so you can see the general shape.

I find it hilarious that people are more interested in the ele’s hand (and it is her hand) then the fact that she is using a warhorn instead of the sword that most people thought eles would originally use as their new weapon.

Well, to be honest the hand question is more interesting than that warhorn.

Yes, that is her hand above her head, as she channels lightning. Her pinky, ring, and middle fingers line up, and her index finger comes slightly further back, and then as you come down below the lightning strike, you have her thumb. This is not an unusual pose, nor are her fingers “abnormally long.” The twist to her wrist would be mighty uncomfortable though, at least it is for me.

Still looks like a sword to me.
BTW: That pose is extremely uncomfortable.

We could get a cooler shoulder, but whatever…

it would be amazing if this was all a trolling act and the Ele actually got 2 weapons a Sword and Warhorn for the elite specialization

I know it wouldnt happen but seriously it’d be GENIUS to troll the community THAT hard xD.
