Q:
Which is broken: Powerful auras, or ice aura?
Is the beneficial double stacking of ice aura a bug? Or is powerful auras bugged? Another issue seems to be that trait’s like zephyr’s boon should be applying twice the boons on allies when we aoe give auras. It is really hard to judge the quality of tempest as a spec when we don’t have clarification on this. Fire aura shouldn’t be bugged for powerful aura, since it isn’t bugged for https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Powerful_Synergy .
Please fix this anet.
Imagine the beauty
Scenario: Your group is aoed stunned by a critical hit. Your spec is air/water/tempest. Happening simultaneously.
And if my fantasy comes true. Any enemy that hits one of the shocking auras you applied, and is subsequently stunned, is shocked by a lightning bolt that damages and weakens them.
This would make auramancy a thing. And this would be a wonderful improvement to an otherwise lackluster spec.
edit: It should say four second of shocking aura. my mention of fire aura was to describe how the behavior of aoe aura application should work when traited with powerful auras. My ideal build does not proc fire aura in this scenario.
The fantasy for my ideal build is that if you have applied an aura to a person, all effects of that aura work with your traits/stats. So a person who is stunned by hitting a shocking aura you have applied should proc lightning rod.

Feel like you use 4 specialization in your ideal scenario…
Fire for one with fire
Air for lightning rod / zephyr boon
Water for powerful aura
Tempest for elemental bastion and shouts.

Fire overload gives you the fire aura i think is what he is saying. Its going to be a good d/d build mind you tempest water air. The main aura you will have problems with is lighting aura with this build becuse the aura dose not stack in duration it would be nice if they did add that in for all auras. (the build has about 3 shocking auras and 2 of them tend to go off at the same time.) Frost aura is the odd ball of all auras. I am still a fan of letting all auras stack but cap there duration at 10 sec or so BUT add in an passive + to each aura such as more power def crit dmg etc.. just the gen state + that you see most classes get but ele/tempest.
Say about +100 or a bit less just enofe to make it something ppl can feel yet not as strong as the other passive +150 effects. Air will be crit dmg, earth will be def, fire power water vit, light healing power, and i guess chauose will be all but lower +.

Close. I was referring to the shouts. So feel the burn should stack twice on allies.

O doable auras ya all aoe auras with the GM in water apply 2 times sadly only realty works on frost aura all though atm it dose doable heal (it may not any more). But it should work with doable buffs too so that a trick with your build i guess you where talking about.
Please, do not give Eye of the Storm shocking aura… More free shocking aura is not good for the game.
Something could be added to Eye of the Storm, I agree. This could be added as low duration stability which greatly enhance the escape capabilities. Or, it could also give this stack of “lightning strike” from the Air overload to yourself and allies.

Another misunderstanding. My own fault because I wrote 8 seconds.
Perhaps this helps:
The build in the example would go air, water, tempest.
Its traits would be
air-zephyr’s boon, tempest defense, lightning rod
water-soothing ice, X, powerful auras
tempest-gale song, X, elemental bastion.
In the example the group is aoe cced with a hit that also crits.
This would proc both tempest defense, gale, and soothing ice.
From those procs the elementalist gains shocking aura, and frost aura.
You see where it goes from there.

Oh. For a moment, I thought you spoke of “Eye of the Storm!” giving Shock Auras. I think I was posting too many things at the same time.
Let me share some information you would find pretty interesting about shared fire auras. A few weeks ago, we ran some test with my team. So here’s some interesting fact.
1. If enemy cleaves multiple people with fire aura, he’ll only get 1 stack of burn. But every target that got hit will get a stack of might.
2. The burning application from a shared fire aura reads the allie’s condition damage, not the elementalist’s.
3. There is not clear telling who will deal the stack of burn when multiple allies are hit. Highest condition damage does not overwrite. It seems prefectly random.
We can safely conclude that there is no auras that grant a clear extra benfit through cleaving multiple enemies when it is shared. ::: ICD on fire aura; ICD on frost aura; Target can’t be stunned twice from cleaving with shocking aura; magnetic aura will surely reflect once and do it for the others.
By their nature, sharing an aura does not punish attackers accordingly.

Come one ANET. Please. Look at the https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/Rate-the-Elite-specs/page/2#post5533260
Almost all lists rate Tempest as the worst or their least favourite.
The icd on auras is suppose to be specific to that aura.
If I hit five people who have shocking aura. And I have 4 stacks of stability. I should receive a stun.
If I hit five people who have frost aura. I should receive five stacks of chill, all using the condition duration of the person who applied the auras.
If I hit five people who have fire aura. I should receive five stacks of burning, all using the condition duration and damage of the person who applied them.
Any and all auras I should work with my traits.
For example
blinding ashes-fire aura
lightning rod-shocking aura
any aura- zephyr’s boon, elemental shielding
If they don’t have the technology to fix auras, why did they make an elite spec devoted to them?
