Not ele nerfs in general, it’s just the scepter “buff” Anet was so bragging about. Turns out it was like adding new seats into a car that isn’t even drivable. That’s what all the fuss is about.
Great community here guys, a person is legitimately disappointed with how scepter was buffed and they must be a flavor of the month player who is going to leave.
That said, hopefully see you in PvE. You should try World v World as well, less frustration more really fun big battles. (tier dependent)

Renewing Stamina: Increased the recharge from 5 seconds to 10 seconds.
Not even mention this is ele’s major trait unlike others are just minor trait.
Ele has lowest base health and lowest armor, so we spend our major trait for our survivability.
LOL the complaints from ele are laughable… You should see what it’s like being a thief. Your op as hell class deserved that nerf. I would welcome you to the rejected corner of the forums with is theifs but you still far surpass our class in all aspects. Enjoy the nerfs for once..
Weird, the cele Scepter build I use (which is much better than fresh air or any other marauder-based build, got buffed)
I don’t use any of the nerfed traits in fire anyways and in arcane neither. I got more than enough vigor and any scepter build with a bit of precision should definitely choose arcane precision anyways… -.-°

The tooth buff is pretty amazing, mightstacking is easier on scepter/dagger than on dagger/dagger, so I don’t mind the burning fire nerf as much.
Also, I kinda like the new shatterstone and I use it quite often to pressure a point now and force dodges.
Fire 1 can now sometimes be used while waiting for CD’s if you want to stay in fire a bit longer.
Also, because D/D got nerfed, other cele-builds like the scepter/dagger one I use might actually be played.

vigor rly hits d/x only as u get vigor out of phoenix and were able to stack it to a senseless high duration before.
and i agree with shatterstone. if it hits – in wvw – it hits hard. if not and ppl avoid, they avoid it on my terms on the points i dont wanna see them or to where i want to push them.
But can’t you avoid Shatterstone simply by running away from it? Don’t need to waste a dodge on it.
Burning nerfs – It’s pretty obvious that burning is exceptionally strong across all classes, and as Ele’s we have pretty easy access to this condition. Was the duration reducation the best way to handle the situation? Hard to say, but at least we’re moving in one direction to see if that helps. The increase to the ICD of Blinding Ashes was a little odd.

No, it should not have been normalized at all. Not like that. Either leave it at 5/5 duration/cd or add something to it to make that MAJOR trait better then MINOR traits of other classes.

Sorry but I don’t see the nerf on the Scepter, only a buff.
Dragon’s Tooth will be used still out of combat to blast firefields and more easy to use to combo that skill with Fields of any kind, making it more viable for different situations, still in spvp to catch the enemy. before you wil never be able to catch a enemy that make 2 step forward why it go out of the area of damage before the skill is casted. Now you can play it to catch the enemy by looking to it’s direction, or casting it on a field to stack might or blast water.
About your nerf on Vigor… oh my… you will never be able now to obtaina perma vigor! OMG how will you be able to fight now?? How will you be able to evade the enemy burst with lesser energy than before?
You can do something like all the other classes and adapt to have lesser vigor? is that hard for a class with immunity skills, healing skills, water fields+blasts, movement and more?
I think that the scepter has been buffed and the nerf on vigor isn’t all that bad like you said.
Now the ele is more balanced with the other classes.

It’s actually a solid nerf, but people will over-dramatically whine about anything on an Internet forum. 5.5 seconds on a 5 ICD is pretty much perma vigor. That’s without cantrips and elemental contigency.
It would be nice if they swapped it with our minor. That way I can just ignore Arcane Fury if I wanted to and have Arcane Precision and Renewing Stamina. It would go a good way into make condition builds more viable, since having to take Renewing Stamina as a staple overshadows Arcane Precision.
But the fact that it’s a major paired with Arcane Fury makes it tolerable that it’s a major and not a minor. The two traits have a lot of synergy.
Given a steady cantrip rotation, I doubt I will notice much downtime in my vigor buff even at a 10second ICD unless the fight drags on for a long time without a disengage. I will probably go back to using a Sigil of Energy though.

Most people would rather have the 10% damage modifier, just saying: in practice the nerfs affects optimized dps staff builds much more than bunker d/d builds. This is why this balance patch for ele is soooo bad.
If they want to normalize Ether Renewal then it needs to be a minor, period. Mesmers and guardians have other way of survability, ele has just boons and some invulnerability on long cooldowns. It’s not even about nerfing d/d ele, but rather securing it will stay the only viable build.

I am sorry, do you have some issues reading written text?
If you have several same traits across the classes it makes completely zero sense to make it a minor for some and a major for others, doesn’kitten
Please tell me what actual survability ele has. High hp pool? High armour pool? Lots of evades tied to a weapon? Or maybe stealth? Blinding ashes might add to that survability but sadly you’re going to lose on something somwhere else, since ele is still forced into traitlines to be able to survive.
Can you read? Saying it was about securing it will stay the only viable build actually means it was like that before the patch. Your question makes completely no sense.
If you think using ER in pvp is a good idea, then you probably haven’t met many skilled people who will instantly interrupt you every single time you cast it, because that’s actually what happens when you face experienced people.
Good nerfs? Totally, d/d still remains superior and zerker ele still unviable. If you don’t see anything wrong with that, there’s nothing to talk about, really.

The main problem last 4 months is the cele DD ele because it’s too strong, you can tank a lot get good healing good burst damage and also good condi condi damage.
With the last patch anet just reduce our might staking abilities and also the burn staking.
The vigor nerf is like nothing, we are still almost perma vigor.
To answer to people saying “all the identical vigor traits got a 10s icd so it’s normal that ele got 10s too”. Yes I agree but the problem is that this trait is a major one on ele and a minor one on other classes so maybe we should get something else from it.
So finally for all the troll saying “hahaha u deserve it, ele broken LOLOLOL” just listen: DD cele ele is still very strong but the ele community is asking for an other gameplay to our lovely elementalist. With this “patch” anet just say “Meh ok you want to play something else than DD but… sorry guys we don’t”. This scepter rework is just a big joke, flamestrike now deals 700 crit damage with the slowest animation ever, shatterstone is still useless cause even if you hit, it just do nothing. And for dragontooth I only see a nerf in wvw when it was uses to destroy AC.
Btw the blinding ashes nerf make me laugh. We stay like 3-4 sec in fire so we have one proc of blind and then we switch to our rotation and come back in fire like 12sec later so BA is up again.
The truth is Anet want us to play tempest, they know how bad is scepter with tempest and they want us to run D/Wh. So they nerf the off hand dagger and the fire trait line. They also buff aurashare. Next meta ele will probably be Tempest/water/arcana or earth with tons of aura and heal. We are going to be healbot. I’m sad about it i wanted fresh air to be good but they didn’t.
