A tweak of a few numbers will probably resurrect d/d in one single sweep, without power creep. It will give the extra breathing room that currently forces people into cantrips, opening up a plethora of new builds that aren’t even on the radar now. It would indeed restore the fluidity of the gameplay and get rid of the unreliability of the spell forcing you to look at the cooldown (if the cooldown is currently even on screen).
But they just…..won’t…….do it…..

A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
Well no, the actual reason was, that they wanted the ele to use RTL as a gap closer rather than an escape tool (even though I can think of other classes who have similar gap closers who didn’t get a nerf). That the nerf even resulted in the contrary in some cases is another story.
I know several D/D or S/D eles, who tend to keep RTL as their last resort as an escape tool rather than using it as a gap closer. The main reason for this is, that with the broken CD mechanic you never know if you will actually hit the opponent or eat the penalty of a double CD due to invulnerability skills, blocks or simple evades…
Currently I don’t play D/D as much as I wanted to, but still I hope they will revert the CD back to 20 seconds and remove the “on hit → CD reduction” mechanic. Balance wise there should be no problem with RTL. I see enough eles getting stuck in the animation when hit with snares… So it seems people learned how to counter it.
And as a side note: I miss my old “travel mode”. The gameplay was much more fluent and fun.

Please Anet, realize that this skill is a part of ele. This is like my reason to play ele. This skills increase my heartbeats when i keypress the keybind of this skill and get stunned while watching me riding the lighting.

that was the third reason they gave ……
but the fiirst was the thief thing….then maybe they noticed someone would suspect something since 90% of nerf caller were thief players.
Infact the last reason doesn t make any sense considering warrior, mesmer and thieves still have their disengages untouched despite having survivig mechanics and access to all ranges.
