So the thinking behind this build came when i realized how similar conjures are to Engineer kits (besides having a cooldown). i have a level 80 engineer where i use the bomb and tool kits along with P/S, which since i played with it the entire time i leveled i feel like i’ve mastered it. I really like having the ability to switch around skill sets during combat, using them all in their right place. It makes me excited to test out a conjure ele

Now Ele’s have 20 skills right of the bat, and with the lava axe, lighting hammer, and earth shield that would give me 10 fire skills(ik some are repeat skills like the fire ring, but they have their own cooldown, so they’re like new), 10 air skills, and 10 earth skills, along with the 5 water skills. Besides the obvious allure of having 35 core skills to play around with, and all the utility that brings in a fight, even if you’re only using a kit once i fight for one important skill to set it up with your main weapons (i was thinking D/D for tihs, even though S/D has been my favorite on previous tries to play an ele)

here’s the theory crafted build. traits for damage and a little bit of survivability, gear for balance across all stats.

Has anyone tried this type of thing out? is it terrible? awesome? feedback appreciated , thanks!

Edit: main concern with this would be survivability. should i scrap wall the +damage traits and try for all survivabilty, since i have 35 core skills to fight with, yet no escapes besides the D/D mobility?

Conjured weapons count as an environmental weapon which means traits which give bonuses to attunement skills doesn’t work on them; e.g. [Pyromancer’s Puissance] doesn’t work with your Flame Axe.

About the build: As a basic rule you should have at least one stun break so I advice you switch out one of the Conjure Weapon skills with a stun break.

The long cast time and cooldown of conjure skills along with giving up your stun breaks severely hampers any build with conjures.

About the traits not affecting conjures- i dont see it as a huge deal because i plan on using D/D during fights and so would still get those benefits of that trait most of the time. Thanks for the info though DesertRose

makes sense about the stun break, however this would mostly be a PvE leveling to orr build, so there really aren’t many stuns on the way to 80.

Edit: should have mentioned this is just a fun leveling build and not a serious dungeon, end game or PvP build….i guess any build can be used without you being terrible on the way to 80 lol

Actually as early as Kessex Hills, Risen start using knockdowns. They may even in the northern bit of the Sylvari starting Zone I can’t remember. Centaurs use them a lot too.

Whats the point of a Conjure build without taking the Conjurer Trait (Fire VIII), Burning Fire (Fire II), and Soothing Wave (Water X)? If your going to build for Conjures then you might as well trait for the benefits of using them. I think if I were to go that route I would probably try something more like this:

Bear in mind that for most of our weapons you will be in melee to use them so thats the only reason I went with Arcane 30 for Evasive Arcana. Attunement swapping is not a big factor with this build at all because you wont be swapping much, however boon duration is a nice benefit to this. Also bear in mind that your bonuses do not factor in to Conjured Weapons so you need to build/trait for survivability a bit more and take advantage of boon stacking. In fact with a pure Conjure build I might just go for more of a Bunker setup and go full survival mode using the Conjured Weapons as my primary source of dps output.
