Hi

So much is written about tempest and how bad the mechanic is.
Lets assume that tempest with its mechanic is already nailed. So if you basically hate tempest and his current design, don´t post here. Also please try to be realistic and balanced. Shouting for OP things won´t help.

So if you can make three changes to traits/skills what would you change so tempest will be worth playing for you. I know much more can be “Fixed” but which three things would be enough for at least trying tempest.

I begin what i would make me take tempest.

1.) Give -20% CD on shouts to tempestious aria
2.) Change latent stamia to apothecaries charm giveing 5% condition damage and healing power.
3.) Change rebound to an instant(shout) that shares light or chaos armor + removes conditions on you.

While this does not adress weaknesses on overcharges (an so related traits) it would make me take tempest. And i did try not to overshoot an keep it realistic at the minimum that will make me consider tempest. For overcharges i would need stability to use them somtimes but the overcharge would not be mandatory for me.

It might be intresting where players focus. Don´t know if someone would call it stable release. I think we are far from that. The total list of changes that should be done to tempest is at least more then ten.
There is another thing that would make me consider tempest a new rune.
Superior rune of the apothecary:

1.) +25 healing power
2.) +35 condition damage
3.) +50 healing power
4.) + 65 condition damage
5.) +100 healing power
6.) Auras aplied remove a condition.

1) I do not think they will add any cdr for any of the elite spec utility well from reaper traps from DH all get no cdr.

2) Why not have it do both? 5% is a bit on the week side though vigor on swap is only soso maybe if the endurance was higher when you applied vigor.

3) It would have to be light aura becuse chaos armor is not an aura sadly. Though that seems out of places it sounds better to have the aura base off your atument your in at the time or simply give all 4 auras at once to your pt (maybe a bit op hehe).

Overcharge: It needs to be a brake bar on all or them just throwing stab at the problem not going to add much to game play but allowing a beak bar on all overcharge i think you can justify making overcharge safer.

There’s only 1 thing that would make me take tempest:

Give it something ele cannot do without it. New boons, new conditions, new mechanics, don’t care.

Fire=might/burn, water=heal/cleanse, air=damage/vul, earth=prot/cripple isn’t new, it isn’t exciting, it’s only boring as kitten.

DH have no cdr trait for there traps they can apply bleeding but that seems it. And i guess reaper kind of has one. So what should be asked for is a shout cdr that gets better then most team mates you hit OR when you have an aura applied to your self or others make shouts cd faster?

There’s only 1 thing that would make me take tempest:

Boon sharing and making boons last longer that ppl already have is new for the ele class. I guess a non elite pull is new so is cdr shout though that going to be hard to make work right.

Maybe the prot + is kind of new for ele too (think mages armor like effect though +10% alone may not be enofe to call it a new thing).

Pt stun braking is very new to the ele class and to all the classe in the game but rav elite spce.

Other then that what else is there then say stealth and throwing more boons that ele cant use on tempest.

This just shows how uninformed you are. “Piercing Light: Added a 20% recharge reduction to Traps.” DH has a 20% CDR trait for traps. Please stop spreading your obvious misinformation.

Also, boon sharing and making them last longer isn’t something new. It’s simply another way of giving THE SAME OLD BOONS to people. There is absolutely no functional difference between simply giving boons to allies, or stacking them on yourself and sharing them.

That was just added i guess they should do that for mez wells and all classes new utility though i like my ideal of lower cd on shouts when you apply auras or when your under the effect of auras.

I was running around WvW and ran into this group with several tempest eles. They shared 6 min of every boon with me. Definitely interesting.

Yea, I’m on the fence about that one. I saw them all flash and expected them to disappear fairly soon. Hover over and see 6m 30s of everything (including 25 might stacks).

replace the warhorn stunbreak grandmaster trait for something that beneficts from auras, making them remove conditions would be a nice addition, that way the tempest wouldnt need to spec into water for condi clearance
