Tips on PVE ele
Elementalists are extremely strong for PvE and Dungeons. In Open World play we tend to use a Staff mainly in fire attunement or a Fresh Air D/D build.
In dungeons we ckittene the staff for high individual DPS which is particularly effective against trash mobs. The more popular options tends to be S/F or S/D with Lightning Hammer conjure as our main DPS weapon. This build allows us to stack a lot of Might for the party which will increase everybody’s DPS rather than just your own, we can also provide perma-fury which is an additional 20% critical chance for everybody.
Ele’s excel in everything really, we’re wanted in Dungeons, World Bosses, WvW, even PvP sometimes x)
However don’t get rid of your mesmer too quickly. They can be extremely strong if played right and some of the best players in my Guild main a mesmer and are a huge help to other members because of their portal abilities. They’re also wanted in WvW for their Time Warp ability and again, portals are always helpful. They’re also annoying as heck to play against in PvP so I don’t really see a downside to them.
In fact I’ve been thinking about making my own Mesmer lately, they seem to have better survivability than Ele’s do and I’m the kind of person who normally gets past difficult parts before others so I think portal would be great for that.
What´s ele´s current status in pve?
we are the king, ele have many viable build for Pve, d/f, s/d and staff but the most usefull things is the FGS
YamataNoOrochi(Warrior)Ziggy Th White Duke(Mesmer)Aleandro De La Vega(Ranger)
There are some groups that only accept heavy armored professions, but in general Warrior, Guardian and Elementalist are your best bets if you want to find a dungeon PUG.
Elementalists can not only generate 3 stacks of Might with a blast finisher in a fire field, but with Persisting Flames (Fire Magic XI) also generate Fury. Therefor one of their main roles in dungeons is to buff the party with Fury and 12+ stacks of Might while dealing decent (Dagger) or good to very good damage (Lightning Hammer).
Against many bosses Fiery Greatsword can be used to burst them down very quickly, and Frostbow is useful in certain encounters (mainly if you have to destroy structures).
Staff is an alternative when you already have a Might stacker in your party, or someone can make good use of your fire fields.

thank you all for your tips, I thought it was as you all said (ele, warrior and guard still are kings in pve) so I am definitely going for ele. (I don’t like heavy armors classes)
@Desertrose, Thanks i will check out those links.
@grimezy, I am not getting rid of my mesmer hehe, I was just talking about PVE, I will keep playing it in WvW for roaming. I love to troll people with my small asura mesmer XD.
Last question, are strength runes worthy enough to spend that amount of gold?
