How are you guys gonna obtain your Ascended daggers?

Exotic dagger was simple because I could just buy them in WvW. But for the Ascended ones, do I have to pick up blacksmithing?

Do fractals, hope for chest, or any world boss for that matter.
Besides, is it really worth spending all that gold on leveling a timegated craft for a measly boost?

either do without or just up your artificer and weaponsmith…
Drop rate is so low its really useless, even more if you want stats you like.

Grind your gold there is no other way.
Sad part is half of that gold will end in the pockets of people market speculators….or it would be way less painful.

Been away for a few months, thought about Celestial armor, looked at prices on TP for recipes (since I missed the chance to acquire them) and gave up. Not even gonna think about ascended now sadly.

The boost from exotic → ascended is extremely small, not worth to upgrade unless you have enough spare gold and are extremely bored.

Luckily i invested in recipes as soon as i could (just for my needs…no speculation).

Anet does even have an economy specialist and despite that we have one of the most broken economy i ever seen in a game….yet he never answers normal players concerns…
Only gives suggestion to flippers and stuff like that…

The weapon damage is where the damage is at so it looks like 1.10 and the Normal exotic damage looks like 1.0.

sry i read “tailoring” and was thinking to Whole ascended stuff..

Yet i wouldn t consider it a small boost because adding all those small boosts people says to ignore you end up with a HUGE boost.

Sorry, when I said “small boost” I meant “small impact”.

It quite depends on the content you spend most of the time on, perhaps it does help in sPvP, but in PvE the impact of using ascended weapon would be what, killing a mob half a second faster? I don’t think that’s worth 143g (artificer) + 60~70g (mats) to craft the weapon, and I guess WvW should be something similar, given that the whole thing is zerg oriented.

Maybe when Ascended armor is here, adding both small boosts it becomes a decent boost, but right now I wouldn’t even consider it unless I’m drowning with gold, really bored and with nothing else in queue to buy.

It’s more like exotics are 1.0 and ascended are 1.05

You express that Capitalist concepts are too flawed to allow to go unfettered. How would you go about instituting change that would rob a Capitalist minded player of profiting however the market allows?

OP; The crafted ascended weapons are account bound, and only soulbound on use. You can pick up weaponsmithing on an alt (and get some levels in the process) and transfer the weapon to your main. I have neither weaponsmithing nor artificing on my ele.

The damage boost from ascended weapons is noticeable (and pretty good in wvw). Getting one can be a costly endeavour though, so I’m guessing the choice depends on your playstyle.

I’m not. I’ve played a damage oriented D/D elementalist since shortly after release. Playing at a disadvantage is what I do.
