Well, I’m at work and I happen to hop on the forums and come across the patch notes. At first I was like oh blah blah, then I see the RTL changes and the Mistform changes and that’s when I go from ^.^ to O.O I then proceed home, rush to my computer and log on and see for myself all the ridiculous changes made. Then I start to QQ to my guild, and this is what one of my members said which sort of gave me a different perspective to all this:
think of this nerf as a big challenge
I know we’re going to have to change our play style to accommodate these outrageous nerfs but hey, it’s a new challenge which we will overcome so we just gotta push through until anet realized they kittened up.

But dear anet, wtf I can understand the mist form, but the RTL increase to 40 SECONDS and A RANGE NERF is just a kick in the balls

The thing is, if we overcome this challenge then we’re basically saying to Anet that what they changed was ok. When in reality, it doesn’t really mean a nerf is good or bad. Just means the ele players are good.

If you can read this then it is proof that ArenaNet’s moderators just, kind and fair.

And I can understand the frustration from some people with mistform, makes me happy that I did NEVER use it. Goodluck with working things out!

40 seconds is excessive. They could have instead made it vulnerable to snares/fixed the range and the problem would have been solved. I’ve just about lost faith in the balancing team though; the last few pvp updates have been disappointing save for a few minute details. I understand why they updated like this; it’s in response to the lower damage output from melee classes who rely on quickness. However, this is the wrong way to go about it.

Well said. They can never nerf our ability to adapt. Should we accept this? Never.
But QQing doesnt make us better. We better adapt and hope anet realises that this patch isn’t going to make more variations in builds only the way we play.

It doesn’t matter whether it was a nerf or a bugfix.

It went 1550 and people were having problems with it going 1550 range. That was solved when it was fixed to 1200. That was sufficient.

Should have been left alone to see how it played out.

Remember when heartseeker was nerfed from doing bonus damage at 66% and 33% to 50% and 25%? It would be like implementing that change, then also adding in “And heartseeker costs 2 more initiative too!”. Just pointless overkill that takes something from really good to crap, instead of really good to just “good”…which should be the aim of anything.
