Tornado PvP
Why???
because Ele’s aren’t allowed a good elite skill
does anyone actually even use this
a lot of people use tornado (both eles and engis – elixer x), i dont know why though as tornado is so underpowered and easy to dodge. i cancel it any time i get it on my engi, and on my ele its only of use in skyhammer & even then its still not that useful

It is actually better on engies because of the naturally higher health and toughness. On eles, tornado might as well be called “kill me, I can’t use skills or utilities!”
The only time ele makes use of tornado is to decap in a 1v1, and even then its just so bad. Before when you could use it to boost meteor shower damage, it at least had a reason to be cast. Nowadays, just use FGS or glyph of elementals (that water ele heal though).
That’s not the only thing wrong with the skills, pretty much everything is. I’m not quite sure why there is such a difference between the defenses Rampage and Tornado gets, while also having more damage, but it doesn’t seem like they intent to fix the skill, so you might as well use something else.
It used to be quite powerful due to the power buff you got from it, but they removed that cause apparently it was too strong.
Yeah I don’t think the taxi has come off my bar for a long time now…. it literally gets a spin, dash and maybe 1-2 spells before it’s dropped… for the CD its a joke, and its the best we have… Glyph is okay for water ele, but the other 3… are kittening trash…. Even then as an elite id rather take any other utility… and we have some bad utilities.. And I’m pretty sure tornado got removed and was renamed whirlpool, cause that’s the only time I see it
I find it useful in Mid at Khylo, to deny rez (particularly in shadow refuge), deny stomps, or kb downed ennemies out of the node to cap faster. Oh and for the lord in foefire when he’s about to heal. But I agree the “elite” coud use some more buffs. A speed increase wouldn’t hurt.

What is Tornado? I thought it was an Engi skill :O

Already quit PvP. Just log in here and there to troll.
It’d be nicer if the knockback was more reliable, directionwise. Losing attunement bonuses on transforms is still the worst thing ever :/
Lightning Rod procs twice on stone’s Tornado, and the skill is still not worth it even with these 6k extra damage on top of every hit, consdering the FGS hits like a truck with the same marauder build and you get to keep Stone Heart and everything else.

Hahaha, not even really an engie skill. Tornado is the punishment for losing the elixir X gamble.

I am pretty sure some crazies want to keep Tornado extremely bad to act as a trade-off against Rampage.

Yeah, I’m fairly certain that was exactly arena nets thought process for allowing Elixir X to be so good.
I still don’t know why Swirling Winds destroys projectiles, but a freaking Tornado does not. I have a feeling that ANET doesn’t get the irony of that.

GW2: it’s like DAoC, but for the WoW crowd.
Id love a revampex tornado that has no abilities but rather changes its effects based on your attunement, and attunement passives would work with it.
Fire would be a flaming twister with burning application. Air would be current visual with bouncing lighting that deals most raw damage with vuln applied. Water would heal and cleanse conditions and partially revive downed allies. Earth would blind and reflect projectiles while applying protection.
All forms would knock back every 3 seconds and their above effects would e,tend beyond thsir knock back radius.
