Toughness: useless for dungeons?
Well I also noticed that stacking full thoughness plus full earth changed the 7.3k HS thief hits into 6.9k HS thief hits.
kittening to useless = saves 400 damage a hit for me…
I believe toughness is only viable against many small hits, and weak against big hits.
It’s Toughness * Vitality that matters, not either alone.
Just stacking Toughness/Vitality doesn’t increase your survivability by much, you also need to use active defensive.
Some +Precision to proc [Renewing Stamina] more often would properly increase your survivability more.
It’s not you or toughness thats the problem, it’s that alpha hits so kitten hard and spams all that annoying aoe On path 3 a lot of times if you just dodge all the circles, he can still hit you with his followup spikes if he wants to focus you). I’ve seen other classes drop as fast and Ele actually has it good on that part if they know what they are doing because Eles have a lot of ways to avoid damage and the fact that we can get vigor easily if we want.
In a “normal” situation with mobs in dungeons I like to take the trait that gets me protection when I cast auras and I sometimes like to run a focus. That really helps and you can have protection up a lot if you swap aura usage, go into earth attunement, and/or do stuff like do combo fields that yield auras.
