dear elementalists,

i’m wondering if anyone here is good at doing TA ex mode? please teach me like what skills you’d use, your traits, or even your toughness armors? the thing is, i was trying to explore it with some strangers last week, and people i met usually skip some parts & monsters. the party i was in, ran and skipped a long long way like crazy.

they mentioned “it’s necessary to learn.” so i just tried different skills combination, lots of stuff and died over & over again trying to run to their spot (they were successful at the first time running together). so it was like, if i didn’t skip the long way successfully with my party members, i gotta die like 20 times and tell everyone “i’m so sorry i couldn’t seem to make it” .

i mean, i don’t want to complain being a soft elementalists, i want to explore TA like other people do, but maybe i didn’t do something right so whenever i had to skip alone to meet the other members (they were guardian + ranger + engineer + necromancer), i just died. i don’t want to become a burden so i’m here to ask for advices, learning from people would be much better than giving up on TA ex or being an elementalist.

i still love being an elementalist, sorry for my broken english! and ganba ro! guys

I’ve got about ~500 tokens from TA on my Ele.

My basic advice? Run Staff. From that point on, you carry the group. I personally run my favorite build of 0/10/0/30/30 with Evasive Arcana and GoEM.

Utilities:

Arcane Wave
Mist Form
Glyph of Storms

Basic Tips:
Surround wolves in lightning cage before pull and then drop a frost aura under them. This will shorten their pounce distance and hopefully miss.

First boss is a pain. Good luck. Try to use Air’s basic attack through the worms for a higher chance to take care of the blossoms easily.

Use Glyph of Storms as Earth. It has a pretty nice constant blind and good damage. Nice for mitigation.

Those Knights? Try to avoid them best you can. If you can get a pushback, slow, cage, or blind on their hit, it should interrupt their wombo combo on you.

Fire basic is good for blossoms. So is earth. Water takes two hits. Lightning has a hard time hitting.

Drop Healing Rain where you might be fighting with a decent amount of blossom respawns. Clears the poison if it goes off.

Against spider groups (if you fight those), drop a Frost aura then arcane wave in the field to give AoE Frost Armor to slow down the damage.

Against bees, switch utilities to Teleport (doesn’t break stealth), Mist Form, and Arcane Shield in case you mess up.

I haven’t really done path forward, forward to help you with the rest.

Hope all that helps.

Is staff really that good for the first boss?

TBH Id carry a D/D or S/D for the first boss. He’s much much much easier to fight if you stand ontop of him, which is really what D/D is all about.

I don’t know why you’d stack on first boss. If you stand behind the rocks and shoot with auto attacks as a group, he can’t hit you. Last boss is the same. Stand on the edge up high on the left side of the room and the boss can’t do anything to you.

As for builds, I ran glass cannon d/d and s/d with a staff handy for the buggy spots. Had my full TA set within the 2nd week of release. All you need is a guardian to spam his 1 ability with staff through the whole instance and you’ll never get hit by blossems.

BTW grab arcane armor and use a dagger off hand for ride the lightning. Youll evade most blossoms and block the rest.
